Hi Elva,
Wow, we may be related! Do you know if your grandfather had a brother or cousin named Prisciliano Valero? My grandfather Prisciliano left Mexico in the 1920s and eventually ended up living in Bakersfield Ca. He died in 1944 after being run over by a drunk driver. He was married to my grandmother Mary Mungary and they had 5 children Maximino, Henry, Jose Andres, Jacinta and Delfina.

Loretta

Hi All- I am a Valero (by Marriage). My husband is a Valero, son of Francisco Valero & Rosamaria Garcia from Piedras Negras Coahuila, Mexico. My husband's parents passed away when he was 4 & 5 years old (1974), he was then given up for adoption but the adopted parents let him keep his original name & last name. We have 4 children & live in Texas. We would love to find any relatives or know more about his origins.

The Valero family where from Guadallahara Spain Originally. The Valero in Cuba was from Spain and went to work in the sugar plantations. It looks like they have spread from Cuba to Mexico then America. The Valero in the Philippines came about because my Great Grandfather Carlos was born in Guadallahara Spain and Married a Spanish girl from the Philippines.(my Mum has Papers on this side of the family)He was an engineer but died young and had 2 girls and 5 boys, his widow then returned to the Philippines to be close to her parents. My grandfather was Carlos JNR and Carlos had a few children with different women in the Philippines and the children although knew of each others existence, they did not acknowledge each other. Carlos Valero JNR was in the Spanish Military. My mother daughter of Carlos JNR married Fernando Merino, they had four children and I am the second Child,Marilou. The Merino family migrated to Australia in 1964. My mothers cousin Manolo Valero had 5 children and also migrated to Australia and so did some brothers and sisters.I have cousins in My mother's brother side who are married to Americans and live in Dallas Texas.

Hmmmm My grandfather is a big missing part of the puzzle that I'm trying to piece together. He is supposedly my father's father but died too. Who knows what nationality he truly was.. but from what I was told he was Puerto-Rican, and owned a restaurant in Long Island somewhere along 5th avenue... Again I'm just going off of what I was told but the truth could be something totally different :/

The Antonio Valero I have was the son of Isidro Valero and Cresencia Sanches. I show two children (probably more)- Genaro and Gregorio. Siblings of Antonio: Antero, Jose Gertrudis(my grandfather), Fidencio, Manuel, and Dolores. Antero also had an Antonio. Hope it helps. If this matches, do you have any info on Luz Martinez, wife of Gertrudis Valero.

Hello Christine:

I am searching for more information regarding the maternal line of my immediate family. My great grandmother was named Guadalupe Valero-Prado and she also had a brother by the name of Isaac Valero. They were from Garcia-Berlanga (about 30 minutes from Monterrey), Nuevo Leon, Mexico. I don't have much information on them given that I have recently begun my genealogical search. I am currently working on a thesis on descendants of Sephardim in Nuevo Leon, Mexico in particular. I have met another individual that is currently here in Houston, Texas who is descended from Valeros in Cadereyta, Nuevo Leon, Mexico right outside of Monterrey. However, his surname is Garza as is my paternal grandfather's surname. As for the Valeros in my family line what I know is that the children of Isaac Valero emigrated to Texas but to the border towns and I don't know of any that emigrated to Houston but as your other reply to Lopez stated the Valeros are related one way or another.

I hope this was remotely helpful and I hope we can continue helping each other.

Carlos Lazo

hi again, my antonio had 12 children, haven't been able to obtain all their names....do you know antonio's mothers name? do you have any connection to the houston area? i have all my info packed up....let me look through it.....there was a seperate valero family that was associated to san valero/san antonio....still haven't found a connection to them yet....years ago i went to the alamo and remember seeing an antonio valero, that was when i was 14 or so and 11 years ago m sister in law mentioned something about being related to him....i never mentioned it to her...so maybe....my father in law was the baby of his family when he was 17 he got into a disagreement with one of his brothers and jumped on a train and fell asleep...he ended up way up north....he didn't find his family until years later his parents had already died...they called him santana, not sure why...still a mystery....all his brothers and sisters are gone now....and i'm still looking for my husbands cousins...but he doesn't remember all of their names....so it makes it really hard...but there was a picture i found of a cousin that married a lopez....are you married to a lopez or is this your maiden name....theres a strong connection to the houston area, my father in law was baptized in a nearby town of richmond...thats how my father in law found what was left of his siblings...through the church....anywho, i'll look for more info in my papers...this weekend....my mind is a little slow these days....let me know what your isidro's wifes name was.....either way valero's are all connected somehow....do any of your valero's have a slight overbite? my husband is around 5'8, 170lb...curly curly hair, in his baby picture he had bug eyes, and he has a great nephew who had them at birth also....i've been to uvalde, there was a river that the water was so clear you could see the floor, and the rocks where so smooth, beautiful....well, have a great weekend.....christine

Well i am a French Valero, I know that my great grand father left Santa Pola near Valencia on a fishing boat cerca 1850.Tthe story says because of the inquisition, but we are catholic, however when they arrived in Algeria and they settled in the jewish quarter Their children never learnt Spanish and we have a picture of my great grand mother with a little star of david neckless. I am aware of the fact that lot of jewish people become christian, but procticed judaism under cover. We cannot trace further information because both the churches where the records were supposedly kept, were burnt during period of unrest The spanish inquisition terminated in 1840. I don't know more that this but would like to.
