Hi Kathy,

Great to hear from you. All I have on Servero, is that he is my great grandfather and died in 1933 in my grandfather's home in Casa Grande, AZ. He is buried in an unmarked grave in the local cemetary. I have a copy of his death certificate that doesn't reveal who his parents were. Only that he was born in Mexico. His wife, Concepion, my great grandmother died in Phx in the home of my great uncle Ramon. I also have her death certificate and as with Severo's there is no mention of who her parents were. I do have a list of all their children. Outside this don't have much more. Thanks for contacting me.

Chris Vasquez
Casa Grande, Az

Hello.
It appears we are researching the same family. Severo Vasquez is also my husband's great grandfather. My husband Jim Martin, must be your cousin - Concha Vasquez, who married Charles Martin, is his grandmother; and their son Jim (Jimmy)is his father.
Although I do have information on many other family members, I don't have anything more on Severo - I am still searching, and will be happy to share anything I may find; or anything I have so far on the family in general.
Kathy Martin
Chino Hills, Ca

Re: Daniel Vasquez

It would help to post dates and locations of birth and death as well as Daniel's brothers, sisters, wife, and relatives. My grandfather was Demetris and one of his son's was Daniel (i.e. Danny). Daniel also had a son, called Daniel (probably 30 something today) Demetris was born in PR. He also had other sons such as Arnold (served in Nam), Freddy (just took up space--just kidding Tio), and a daughter Damaris. Latinos are hard to research because our pet names (customary names) are sometimes not their legal names. I couldn't find my cousin Pito until I grew older and realized his name was Louis. He was only called Pito because he had buck teeth and whistled when he spoke. I shit you not. Last question, and this one gets some on this threat pissed, what ethnicity, and don't give me "we're all of the human race" bullshit. If your Rican and have census records going back 120 years, all your family pictures look similar, even distant cousins, chances are you're not from Peru. It's not a diss. It's just the way it is. Yeah, yeah people are mixed, I get it, but don't be so sensitive. Viva en Paz ese...y no baila con los lobos...

Moreno Vasquez link... Tiburcio?

Hello :) My gg grandmother was Edwarda/Eduarda Moreno born 1893 in Mexico, came to California in 1904 and died in 1938 in Los Angeles. I recently talked to some extended relatives in LA who said that the name Moreno wasn't actually her maiden name. It was originally Vasquez but they changed it to Moreno (maybe her mom's maiden name?) because a relative of theirs was a known criminal and they did not wanted to be associated with him. Doing a little research I come across stories of Tiburcio Vasquez! I live in the bay area and have never really heard about this guy! amazing. Anyway, he had a cousin named Teodore Moreno.... could my gg grandma have been related to Vasquez? Unfortunately, I have precious little info on her. Any help here would be appreciated :)
Thanks,
Allison J. Rodriguez

Pablo Vazquez and Marcelina Florres prior to 1937

Seeking info on Pablo Vazquez and Marcelina Florres. It is believed that both were born in Mexico and lived in and around Tamaulipas and Nuevo Leon Mexico.

Marcelina lived in Nuevo Laredo, Texas where she died and is buried. Pablo lived in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico where he died. Sorry no death dates. This couple may or may not have been married.

Parents of Hilda, Chencho Panchi, Pablo, Jr., Ana (Anna), Fransico, Julio Flores, Alexandro, Virginia, Theresa and one un-named child.

Names could be spelled Vasquez, Vasques, Vazques and Vazquez. The children all spell their surname differently which makes research very difficult.

Dates would be approximately prior to 12 Nov 1937 the birth date of Julio. In the late 1960’s and early 1970’s Julio used Vazquez and Vasquez as the spelling of his last name. He has since become a naturalized citizen of the US and uses Julio Flores Vazquez as his name.

I would appreciate any help you can give me on any of the family mentioned.

ellergirl@hotmail.com
They had another child who was born in the US around the Kansas area, a son sacrias or zacrias....He died under a year old and Juana passed away two months later around 1917 at the age of 21. I'm guessing from pneumonia or something. So are we related???? lol
