Would love to see any family info you have and would be willing to share my own research. My grandpa's brother wrote a book the Velasco Family Story which chronicles my family lineage including old pictures. Thanks a lot for your time.

-Scott Velasco

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I have border crossings from Soledad Cuen de Velasco that say she is going to see her daughter Carmen V. de Swain. Also, Carmen V. Swaim death record lists Cuen as mother's maiden name.

Since Ramon Cuen was born 1790 in Buenavista and married Maria del Carmen Camargo in Villa Pesqueira (previously Ma'tapa) and several relatives were born in Arizpe and Ures if these relatives were of the once Opatas Indian tribe that inhabited those areas? I remember Carmen Velasco Swaim as being very short and Soledad was listed as 4'11".

Do you have any info on this?

ck'd soc sec info for Carmen V. Swaim
she used her husbands soc sec his info shown as
Charles lewis Swaim 9-24-1883 born Mc Kinney(collins county
Texas, his parents:
Elisha Lafayette Swaim-Mary Stiff.
noted he signed soc sec on 6-8-1937
address: 504 Upson Ave., El Paso Texas
so no info on Carmen's parents name. only recourse I
guess is to requested her death Certificate..however there are Swaim surnames with mother shown as Valenzuela. which makes this a bit harder to find.
cora.

Thank you for that info. It was Soledad Cuen de Velasco (my husband's great grandmother) that had a son Florencio Velasco and a daughter Carmen Velasco b. 1/9/1884. Carmen is my husband's grandmother and she married Charles Lewis Swaim and became Carmen Velasco Swaim. The Swaim's have been in this country since 1650's from Netherlands. This particular line went south into Texas (El Paso) and Arizona (Tuscon) and eventually Calif. I have seen several border crossings where Soledad would visit her daughter Carmen V. de Swain (mispelled) in Arizona and Carmen's 3 young children, Charles Lewis Swaim, Alphonso Alfred Swaim and Mary Carmen Swaim.

Back up to the top, I am showing that Ramon Cuen married Maria del Carmen Ramires in 1849 in Ures. Ramon Cuen's parents are listed as Ramon Cuen and Maria del Carmen Camargo. Carmen Ramirez's parents are listed as Antonio Ramires and Dolores Rogel. That's as far back as I have gone on this line into Mexico. Do you have any farther?

Hi,
I just made a connection into this side of my husband's family. His father is Alfred Alphonso Swaim who was born to Charles Lewis Swaim (born 1883)and Carmen Velasco (born around 1884). They lived in Arizona and El Paso, Texas and Carmen Velasco Swaim enventually moved to California where she died in 1966. Carmen Velasco was born in Mexico and her mother was Soledad Cuen Velasco. I also don't know anything about Soledad's husband (Velasco), but Soledad is listed as widowed by at least 1910. Can you add anymore?

Hello Houston area Velasco Family.
My Velasco family ancestry search goes back to my grandfather, Luis (Dominguez) Velasco. We are from a large family. How much of your Velasco family are you searching for? You have your uncles, are you looking for their children and grandchildren? My family history goes back to Luis Velasco and Rafaela Frayre de Velasco married in Mex. They were migrant workers and lived around Bastrop, Hills Prairie, and Manor among other places. My father Juan Frayre Velasco was their youngest child. Rafaela (my grandmother) died in 1905 and Luis Velasco later married Paula Rangel. I know my father had several halfbrothers named Raul (Roy?), Jesus, Moises, and Pablo who lived in Houston. I don't know if there are more siblings there. I don't have any information about their offspring. I would like to know their names, etc. if they turn out to be my relatives. I don't suppose you have information of relatives back into the 1800's. My grandfather, Luis, died in 1963 in Houston or nearby. Hope you can respond soon.
Luis Velasco 3rd generation ancestor.
Hello

My Name is Mimi and I am a part of the Velasco Family. I was born in Puerto Rico but my great grandfather was from the canary Islands in Spain. I Know he had around 12-14 sisters and brothers but they all got separeted when their father died and their mother could not take care of them any longer. So my great grandfather got to Puerto Rico by boat in the early 1900's or so. It's been many years since we have been trying to get in contact with other family members but so far we have not had much luck. We would love to know more about our family.

Please let me know

Thanks
Mimi

I am just starting a geneology search and am heving a hard time locating information on my father's history. His mother is Ethel (unknown maiden name) and father is Felix Velasco. I believe Felix had a brother by the name of Guy. They lived in the Santa Cruz/San Jose, CA area when Thomas was born in 1950. From stories my father told me when I was a child is that Felix was born to an American Indian (mother) and a Spaniard (father). They lived in the Santa Cruz mountains and did not receive a birth certificate until Felix was school age. This all the information I have on my Paternal side and am hoping to find more. Any help would be appreciated. I can be contacted at moonsnstars@sbcglobal.net

John,

This is very strange. My name is also John P. Velasco and I had a great Aunt and Uncle by the name of Fernando and Henrietta Hernandez. My grandfathers name is Paul F. Velasco who was the brother of Henrietta. Paul passed away in 1985 and Henrietta passed in the early '70's. If you would like to contact me please reply to this email.
