HI Keri. I grew up on Potrero Hill and know many of the names and some of the people. Another common spelling you are missing is "Loskutoff" to whom I'm related by marriage. There are some in still on The Hill, Daly City and San Rafael to the best of my knowledge. As I recall some moved to Sebastapol near Santa Rosa, and the Calistoga area. Hi Mary Jane......I was inputting some Vidinoff information into my file and thought I'd do a search on Google. I do alot of posting on the Molokan message board. Have you tried doing a post there to get more information about your family. I'll be glad to send you what I have in my file. I have some holes that you can help me with. My family is from the San Francisco Molokans on Potrero Hill; however, alot of my family is also part of some of the other Molokan churches in southern California.

Hi, my name is Keri and my great grandparents are Alice Bogdanoff and Michael Loscotoff. . Both fom the Ukraine area and Molokans that lived in San Fransico (Poteo Hill) and then Santa Rosa Calif. where my grandpa had a farm and my father still takes care of. His name is Michael Loscotoff also. I you know of any relation, please let me know!

Hi, My name is Lani Vedenoff. I was married to David Vedenoff who's family is from Russia. They settled in L.A. when they first came here in 1904 or 1906. They moved to Alpaugh Ca. and settled there. This is near Delano where there is a very large Russian community.

My husbands Father's name was Paul Vedenoff who married Pauline Joiner some 50 plus years ago.

If I may, can I ask why you are seeking the Vedenoff's?

Paul came from a very large family (many sisters and brothers) ... I know that Mary and Emma were two of the sisters names and a brother David who died and was burried at sea on their voyage to America.

You can reach Pauline Vedenoff in Porterville Ca. phone listed under Paul I believe.

Sean Vedenoff can be reached in Visalia Ca. number is also listed.

I saw your post on the familyhistory.com website. This is a long shot. But, I am researching my family tree - from Russia.

My maiden name is Metchek.
My great Aunts and Great Uncles changed their name to Metchek, Metchik, Meitchik.
It has been mentioned to me that possibly the name was shortened when arriving in the United States in the early 1900's.

Do you have any relatives with those names? I would be happy to share all of my information!
