My great great grandmother was born Rosaria Volante, she married Luigi Di duca and went to Uk from Atina in early 1900 or late 1800. I have some family history after that if you are interested. if you think you are related I would love to hear from you.

I am a Volante from South Jersey. I have traced my family back to Gallinaro,Italy. My great grandfather was Guiseppe Volante. He was born around 1828 and was married to Palma Delicato in 1852. As far as I know they had several children among them were:Leonardo, Arduino, Caterina and Luigi. My grandfather was Leonardo and he came to the US via England in 1905. They settled in Ocean COunty where I live.

I am searching for the siblings of Guiseppe Volante. I think that his parents were Luigi Volante and Palma Farina but I am not sure of that.They all came from Atina, Gallinato , Monte Cassino area.

I would be happy to share additional information with you.

I cannot find where he came to the US. He was a US Citizen when he went back to Italy and brought over his father Vito and a child named Mary who was listed as his sister.

There is no wife for Vito on the records.

Can anyone help me find this family. They were in The US in the state of New Jersey from the 1900s on. And this is where Guiseppe (Joseph) and Vito died but nothing on Mary. I dont know where she went or what became of her. She was in the 1920 census as 14 yrs old and then no sign of her after that.

I am researching The Volante/Pisauro line but have come up with these other names.

I have Giuesseppe Volante who married Threasa (Theresa) Carollo (Or could be Carillo)

Giuesseppe was born about 1889 in Italy we believe around Villarosa. He died in New Jersey in 1944
Theresa was born 1890 in Italy and died 1941 in New Jersey.

I have found also a Theresa Carillo who was living with her brother Joseph. She married a Joseph Volante and the two children listed are Theresa Dechristian and Anthony Dechristian.
Anthony has always stated that Theresa was his half sister and he used the last name Volante. We are trying to figure out if his last name was Volante or DeChristian or do the Italians have something like the spanish do where they use the mothers maiden name or the name of the grandmother meaning DE of christian?
If Anthony says that Theresa is his half sister and her last name is the same as his this doesnt add up.
Theresa married a man with the last name of DeRegatis and had a son named Nicholas. She died when he was young and he was raised by Anthony and his wife.
We did not even learn until Nicholas funeral that The grandfather had a brother and they had a huge falling out but cant get the name yet Seems to be all great big secrets and no way to trace this line till we figure out what the Dechristian connection is.

Hello! Great to hear from you! I am pretty sure we are related because I have this book that has names and addresses that were Volante's all over the world and the majority of the ones in Italy live in either Atina, Frosinone, or Galinaro, Frosinone-my grandfather-Agostino "August" Antonio Volante was born in 1896 in Galinaro but grew up in Atina-right next to Galinaro. My grandfather wass Achille Volante and was born in Atina as well in 1909 (I think). He and his wife Giovanna (aka Amelia) had a small store in Picinisco near Atina. Does anyone know any relations there?

Thank you for replying! We might be related-all my Jalbert family came from France, to Quebec, Canada, and some to the USA-all New England area. I -Eric age 38 live in Virginia, with my wife Anita 35, and our 2 daughters Ashley 12 and Allison-9. My grandmother on my father's side was Marie A. Jalbert and born around 1897, and died around 1976-she was born in Woecester, Mass. Some of our ancesters names are: Jean Gerbert-(later, spelled Jalbert), and his son- Mathurin Jalbert. They both live around 1500-1600. Hi - I'm also trying to find info on the Volantes (my mother's side of the family). My great-grandfather Charles (or Carlo) Volante was born in Sutera, Italy (Sicily) in the late 1800s. His parents were Calogero Volante and Maria Scozzaro. I believe some of his siblings (or it may be his father's siblings) emigrated to the US. He (and I think his parents) settled in Algeria, where he married my great-grandmother. The family remained in Algeria until my mother and her parents fled during the Algerian Revolution (1950s) for Canada and the US. Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!
