Hi there,

The Walls family are my own family lineage from the Aspull area, and i have extensive research on the family going back to 1700. Roger Walls married Jane 'Bullough', and their line goes all the way back to Valentine Walls born 1700 (and Valentine's brother Robert born 1710 who is my own direct ancestor)

Feel free to email me at fran.collins@representative.com and i will mail you back with an entire history of the family. I am currently researching the possibility that the Walls family came from Preston to Aspull in 1630 to escape the Plague, and if so then the family is related to Saint John Wall canonised by the Pope in 1970

Robert Frank Walls, age. 91,Born Woodcock twp, Crawford ,County, Pa.son of,Joseph and Gwendola Walls.

Robert Frank Walls, 91
of Southwest Township, Warren County,
was called home on Sunday, April 22, 2012 from his longtime home near Grand Valley. His mortal labors finished-the Lord has need of his talents elsewhere.
Born in 1921 on a family dairy farm in Woodcock Township, Crawford County, Pa.,
he was the fifth of nine children born to Joseph and Gwendola Walls. In 1941 he married his childhood sweetheart Ruby. She preceded him in death in 2008. He was a true patriot and loved his country. In January of 1944, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Navy and took his basic training at the Great Lake, Ill. Naval Training Yard. He was assigned to fight as a Seaman Second Class in the Pacific arena on the battleship USS Washington. He was part of the deck crew which loaded the 20mm shells into the 16" turret guns. He saw action in the Marianas, the Philippines, Leyte Gulf, Okinawa, Iwo Jima, Luzon, and Peleliu-among others. He was honorably discharged in December of 1945. He was awarded the Victory Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the Philippine Liberation Campaign Medal with two bronze stars, and the Asiatic Pacific Medal with six bronze stars. Returning home, Bob worked as a partner with his father-in-law in a well drilling business engaged in drilling for water, gas and oil in western Pennsylvania. In 1952 he and Ruby relocated their family to the Titusville area where they operated a dairy farm for many years. Bob served as road foreman and supervisor for Southwest Township for 20 years and also drove school bus for 20 years for the Titusville Area School district. Bob enjoyed being a farmer, taking care of his animals, and working with his farm equipment. He enjoyed bowling, hunting with his dog "Buster", and fishing with his family. Bob, ever faithful to his Lord, dutifully read his Bible every morning. Survivors include four daughters, Diane Tanner Sharer and her husband Dennis, Carol Tonn and her husband William, Judy Walls, and Linda Geissler and her husband John; a sister, Betty Davern; and two brothers, Waldon and Jerry Walls. He will be sadly missed by grandchildren, Regan Tanner and spouse Toni, Roxanne Tonn, Jason Tonn and spouse Karina; and great-grandchildren, Trey and Ernie Tanner, Derek Spring, and Katie, Andrew, and Rachel Tonn. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three brothers, Joseph, Jack, and Paul Edward Walls; and two sisters, Anna Mae and Margaretta Walls. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., Titusville, on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at which time the funeral service will be conducted with Rev. Rick Hamrick, pastor of the Youngsville Free Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Peters Cemetery in Venango County. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Youngsville Free Methodist Church, 238 East Main Street, Youngsville, PA 16371; to Hospice of Warren County, 2 Crescent Park West, P.O. Box 68, Warren, PA 16365; or to Keystone Elk Country Alliance, P.O. Box 315, 134 Homestead Dr., Benesette, PA 15821.
( Erie Times-News on April 24, 2012)

Youngsville Free Methodist Church,"

To abanham, Thanks for the reply. These are all the same person, Catherine Esther WALLS, who m1. Walter Newton AGNEW, Sr. (my grandfather) and later m2. John E. WORRALL. Walter N. Agnew m2. Ivy Alberita DURGA (my grandmother). As a result of your note that she remarried in 1923, I was able to determine that her second husband was John E. WORRALL, d. 1955 in Tampa, FL. Catherine Esther WALLS AGNEW WORRALL d. 1969, and both Catherine and John WORRALL are buried in Oatka Cemetery, between Scottsville and Wheatland, Monroe Co., NY. This is a big help and I appreciate your note! Now I'm trying to determine whether Walter and Catherine Esther had any children, but I doubt it. I do not see any children of Catherine Esther and John WORRALL, either, but I need to search the 1940 Federal Census.

I just came across this post . This a very confusing situation. The Rochester Historic Marriages website lists Catherine "G" Walls marrying Walter N Agnew in 1912. However the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle reports this marriage as being between an Esther Walls and Walter. Esther first appears in the City Directory with Walter in 1916 but not thereafter . She remarries in 1923 and Walter Remarries that year also . Esther is listed in the 1900 Census but not 1910 where Catherine E appears . Age would be right if they were the same person.

OBIT_WALLS, DUSTIN EARL

Dustin Earl Walls

Age 26, passed away on February 13, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Dustin attended Concord Christian Academy, was a graduate of Concord High School and a longtime resident of N. Wilmington, DE. He was a loving husband to Kylee, a proud father to Layla and a great friend to many. One of his biggest joys in life was fatherhood and spending time with his young daughter. He was a lifelong fan of professional wrestling, Star Wars, Disney and, admittedly, all things geek. Dustin was the lovable, funny type of guy that everyone was glad to have in their lives and he retained his sense of humor throughout his recent struggle. Sadly, the world lost one of its true superstars.

He was predeceased by his grandmother, Wilhelmina "Winnie" Smith and his father Brett Walls Sr. He is survived by his wife, Kylee Anne Walls; daughter Layla Elisabeth Walls; grandfather, G. Earl Smith; mother, Deborah Shoppell; stepfather, Charles Shoppell; brothers, Brett Walls Jr. and Chuck Shoppell Jr.; sisters, Chelsey Williams and Jessica Shoppell and a niece and nephew.

The family would like to extend special thanks to everyone that stepped into the squared circle and fought alongside Dustin for the past two years, and to all the people who continue to show their support.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Monday February 20, at Concord Baptist Church, 2510 Marsh Road, Wilmington, DE, where friends may call after 10 am. Interment will be at Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills, PA.

The family asks, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made at www.giveforward.com/fundraiserfordustinw

Online condolences please visit: www.mccreryandharra.com
302-478-2204
Published in The News Journal from February 17 to February 19, 2012

Hi Norma, I have seen mention of the name Diamond and Wals before before and think that Joann who also posted on this Walls post site has been tracing that line. On my Walls side, unfortunately no one in the Walls family married a Diamond as far as I'm aware. You may already know this, but just in case not, the name Walls comes from the French name De Val. That family came over to England with William the Conquerer in 1066 and then moved over to Ireland via Wales about 100 years later. So the lineage is Anglo Norman. The De Vals largely settled in the north west of Ireland and also in what is now called Northern Ireland. If I come across any other information that would be of help to you re Diamonds and Walls, I'll let you know, best wishes Fiona

One of them is called Patrick Walls Born c. 1785)and he was married to Elizabeth Diamond (Born c. 1790). Her parents were Matthew Diamond and Catherine Herron (or Hesson).
Does this ring any bells with anybody?

Norma

She was born in Tn. in 1827 and married to Hugh Dodd in Tn. in 1844.
Possibly her parents were Henry Merrit Walls (1798-1878) and Susannah Higdon (Higgins) b. 1798.
There is supposed to be a Native American connection there too.
Dear Bethan

Lovely to hear from you, many thanks for your reply to my query. That's great re Patrick Carr, you have confirmed my resarch into where he came from in Sligo which I was about 90% sure of but now am 100% sure.

Patrick was also my great, great grandfather. He was born in the hamlet / village of Cabra in Kilglass, Sligo on 15/8/1857. His father was also called Patrick and his mother was Mary McLaughlin. Both Patrick senior and Patrick junior had brothers, both called Bernard. Patrick junior's (our great great grandfather's brother) was born in Cabra on 24/4/1868.

Patrick junior and his brother Bernard both ended up in Hartlepool where Patrick married Hannah Walls and Bernard married a woman called Bridget(whom was called Aunt Bezzie the family). Patrick and Hannah had several children including my grandfather Bernard who married Kitty (Catherine) O'Neill. My father Peter Michael is the 4th of their 7 children.

Hannah and her brother, grandmother, and father came over from Ireland (not sure from where in Ireland - do you know?)to Yarm in North Yorks in 1870/1, just after the death of Thomas' wife a year earlier. They came to Yarm as that is a potato growing area and so was where many of the Irish first came. They then moved a bit further north to Hartlepool where Hannah met and married Patrick (I've seen their marriage cert which Patrick marked with an x because he couldn't at that stage write).

Patrick and Hannah became publicans and were quite prosperous but my dad doesn't know where they got the money from to buy the pub from and he's always wondered if Hannah's father Thomas helped them in some way but doesn't know for sure.

Can you tell me more about which of Patrick's children you descend from? It would be great to find out more. Also, please take a look at my family tree: CARR/BOOTH family tree for information.

I look forward to hearing from you and thanks again for getting in touch, with all best wishes, Fiona

Hi - I posted on this thread a few years ago and have since uncovered a little more information. Hannah Walls, born 1856 in Ireland, was my Great Great Grandmother. Hannah married Patrick Carr (from Kilglass Parish, Sligo) in Hartlepool in 1879. At the time of their marriage, Hannah's father, Thomas was living with them.

I [think] I have since located Hannah and her father Thomas, on the previous census in 1871, living in Yarm, Stockton on Tees, before her marriage to Patrick.

Hannah is 14 in 1871 and lives in a household with her brother Patrick, aged 11, her father Thomas, aged 58, and Thomas' mother, Hannah Walls, aged 95.

Thomas is recorded on this census as being a widower and his occupation is agricultural labourer.

I have not yet located Thomas and family on the 1861 census and so for the time being must assume that the family moved from Ireland during the 1860s.

Hi, I have a Thomas Walls (my gg grandfather) who married Honor (commonly called Hannah) in Northern Ireland. They were both born in the early 1820s - some reports say they were from Sligo but I've also heard mention of Derry. They had a daughter also called Honor (also known as Hannah) born 1856 and a son Patrick born 1870. Honor was my g grandmother and she died in Hartlepool in the north east of England in 1924. It's possible we are related and if you have any further information regarding the family, I'd be very grateful. If I can be of any help to you, I'd be very happy to be so. On my father's mother's side we are also O'Neill's originally from Tyrone, by way of Hamilton and Berwick. I look forward to hearing from you, best wishes Fiona
