Walton- James (born 1838 in Warwickshire England)

I wondered if anyone can help me in any way, I am fairly new to this but I have however managed to trace back my family tree to a James Walton born 1838. Here is my problem using the census entries etc. I have discovered two seperate entries, in one it states that he married a lady by the name of Mary, only stating her married name of Walton, stating that she was born in 1839 in Edinburgh Scotland & then it lists 10 children, this could be correct as one of their sons was a James born in 1862 (he is a direct descendant). Another entry states that James born 1838 was married to a Mary Ann Purton also of Scotland, it also lists the 10 children. Could anyone help me is this the same lady or was James married twice.Meaning that some of the children were from one marriage and the rest from the other
Also has anyone got any ideas how I might set about tracing her maiden name (if not Purton) and her father & mother etc.
I also have a similar problem with my great grandmother who was welsh, I know her maiden name was Annie E Lloyd born 1863, but there my search ends because I know nothing else about her whatsoever and Lloyd is such a common name in Wales.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Some Waltons came from Nova Scotia to California in the late 1800s. One was Bertha Walton. Her parents were Simkins Walton and Maria A Bishop. Simkins father was James Walton whose wife was Charlotte Beach. Good luck!

Derick, as far as I know, the Walton's that my ancestor married into were from Virginia. And all her children were born in Missouri. That's not to say that there isn't any from Mississippi, but I haven't come across them, yet. It is entirely possible that some of Joseph Walton's siblings may have gone to Miss. from Virginia. If I come across any, I will let you know.
Kathy

Walton Family - George Walton

Hello,

I am researching my family history and I am a descendant of the Walton family like many.

I will list the line and get it out of the way

John Sr Walton had
John Jr Walton Had
Claiborne Walton (Married Warren) Had
John Leonard Walton (Married Thompson) Had
Claiborne Walton (Married Mexey) Had
Mexey Walton (Married Anna Hite Vaughn We have the marraige Certificate) Had
Leona K Walton (Married Melvin ROberts Pierce We have the marraige Certificate) Had
M Elaine Pierce (Who is my great grand Mother).

I did some research and found someone claiming to be a descendant of George Walton signer of the declaration of independance.

I found that his parents were Robert Walton and Frances Sherwood.

I then found that John Sr Walton had a brother named Robert, in which his profile states he married a Frances Sherwood. They also have the same parent which is Edward Jr Walton.

I am wondering is anyone can confirm this or if anyone has put this together yet, or even if the information I am gathering is correct.

If so, this will be able to add another generation to my family tree, and maybe with your help, find more generations. And hopefully I will find that I am a descendant of a founding father.

John Sr Walton - http://home.comcast.net/~davidmartin/ppl/a/b/abd2acd2a340013...

Mother - Elizabeth
Father - Walton, John Sr
Siblings:

1.WALTON, ROBERT [I1025]
2.Walton, Mary [I1026]
3.Walton, William [I1027]
4.Walton, Thomas Sr. [I1028]
5.Walton, Elizabeth [I1029]

Robert Walton:
http://home.comcast.net/~davidmartin/ppl/a/c/ac1c1203e6e2277...

Mother - Elizabeth
Father - Walton, John SR

Narritive - Robert married Frances Sherwood who was born on Jan. 17, 1697 and died on March 10, 1780.

I also want to let you know that we found alot of information about 10 years ago when my grandmother passed away. We found a hand written family tree from about 20-30 years ago that is very detailed lots of photos and marraige certificates.

please feel free to contact me - stillabower.brian@gmail.com

Walton's in Missouri

I have been searching for the any information on Parmelia Musick Walton, daughter of William and Winnifred Hannon Musick who was born in Missouri about 1803. She was said to have married Joseph Walton (abt 1800 in Virginia, died after 1850 in Missouri). They had 4 children that I know of, all born in Missouri(Bates County) they are Green Walton born abt 1831, Henry H Walton born abt 1835, Charles M Walton born abt 1838 and Mary Walton born in 1839.
I have found Parmelia in the 1850 census with her husband and 3 of her children, also in the 1870 and 1880 census but can't locate any of them in the 1860 census. Her husband is not in either the 1870 or 1880 census and in 1880 she is listed as widowed.
I am related to Parmelia through her mother Winnifred Hannon Musick and I've been trying to track down this family for some time. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Kathy

"Robert and wife, Sally Hughes had atleast 2 children, of which, George Walton 1740 Signer of the Declaration of Independence"

regarding the above...My name is Michael Walton. I live in Savannah,GA.which, as you may know, is where G.Walton moved to from Virginia (So the records tell us).
I have made a minor attempt at moving backwards to England and it seems you may have found a line that may be of use.

Before I go on, mention was made in your post re. relation to G. Walton.
I have been told this all my life and having Savannah,Ga as a birth place along with my father, who is named after George, My Uncles Thomas and Edward have heard the same. (Funny how these first names keep popping up).

Anyway I am in no way disputing your claim of relation. I must caution you however that Everyone with the last name of Walton will lay claim as well.
What I am interested in is your location.
George A. Walton, born about 1785 in Campbell Co Virginia

I am looking for information about George A. Walton, born around 1785 in Campbell, Virginia . He was married 23 Dec 1805 in Prince Edward Co. to Mary Polly Smith, daughter of Henry Smith. George and Mary Polly only had two children:

1.	George Henry Walton who married Malinda Mason in Charlotte Co VA in 1835.

2.	Catherine Walton who married Elisha Monroe in Campbell Co VA in 1825.

Mary Polly (Smith) Walton had apparently died by 1842 when George A. Walton married (2nd) Martha "Patsy" Foster in Campbell Co VA. George A. Walton and his new wife Martha moved to DeKalb Co TN, where he died by Jan 1847.

I have looked at every Walton tree to possibly find who George A. descends from and can’t find anything. I found them in the 1850 census in Campbell, Virginia. If you have any suggestions, I would be most grateful!

My grandfathers name was Lester Walton from Palmyra. His sister's name was Flossie. I still have a picture of him and her when they were about 50. He died in 1974. Grandpa never told me why they went to Mississippi but I do know that my great grandparents were fisherman and store owner there on the Mississippi River near Quincy, IL. My grandfather fished with his dad. He also worked on the rocking they did around town during the depression. My grandfather was born in 1900. I really don't know their ages in the picture, I know it was my fathers favorite picture and my mom worked for a portrait studio and did dad the one I have which was done in oil. My dad swore to God it looked like his aunt and dad.

Waltons in Muscogee County

I am the great,great,great-granddaughter of Charles("Charlie") Walton. His children are Arlena(my great,great-grandmother),Andrew, and Martha (Mattie). I was reviewing the 1910 Census, and I noticed that Mattie and her two sons, Esau and William lived with their uncle, Isom Coleman in Columbus,Georgia(Muscogee County). That led me to believe that Arlena, Andrew, and Mattie's mother's last name could be Coleman. Charlie was born between 1834 and 1835, Arlena in 1865, Andrew in 1870 and Mattie around 1885. If you have any info about Charlie's spouse, please contact me.

Charlie Walton born in Arkansas

I am searching for the Walton ancestry of John Henry "Jack" Walton 1880-1968. John had three brothers that I know of for certain: Frank, Tally, & Charles "Charlie".

John Henry "Jack" WALTON 1880 – 1968
Frank Bunyan Walton 1884 – 1923
Talley W "Tollie" Walton 1889 – 1965
Charles "Charlie" Walton SR 1892 – 1980 (But which Charlie?)

The parents of these men came from Tennessee and settled in Arkansas where the sons remained until marriage.

John Henry Walton is the grandfather of my husband Dwight Rider Walton JR; and this Walton family heritage has been kept a mystery. The only existing sibling of Dwight Walton SR is Virginia Walton Mayton and even she had never known the names of her Walton grandparents.

There is some confusion as to which of three possibilities for the real brother named Charlie might be in historical records.

1st: Charlie Willie Walton born 26 Nov 1888 and died 23 Apr 1973.

Charlie Williebe “Willie” Walton
Birth 26 Nov 1888 in Arkansas
Death 23 Apr 1973 in Dumas, Moore, Texas

Which is of much confusion due to his records overlapping with the records of others named Charlie Walton, also born in Arkansas:

Charles "Charlie" Walton SR
Birth 05 Aug 1892 in Arkansas
Death Jul 1980 in Hope, Hempstead, Arkansas

2nd: is Edgar Charles "Charlie" Walton SR
Birth 08 Apr 1895 in Lone Oak, Lincoln, Arkansas
Death: 27 Mar 1968 in Beaumont, Jefferson, Texas.

This Walton connection may not be of your direct lineage; however, if you do have Walton family connections that might be willing to share their ideas on this line, it would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Leah Chitty Walton
