I just sent a message to Shirley regarding the Warings. I can give you some of the information that I have. Unfortunately, it is not much.

Grandfather was Geoffrey Francis Waring d.o.b. unknown died in 1963 or 64.
Married to Edith Annie Johnson (Wales) d.o.b. unknown died in the early '80s.
They had 2 sons, Donald d.ob. July 17, 1923 d.o.d. May 21, 1994; and Roy (d.o.b. unknown) d.o.d. August 1986.

My father was Donald Waring, he use to work for the CBC television station. My mother states that my grandfather (Geoffrey) was the black sheep of the family and he never spoke of his family.

Hope this helps.
Jennifer

English and Irish Warings

Hi, Second cousins in Australia have been doing much research on the irish Warings and we have a huge amount of information, but lack information on dthe Lancashire Waring who went to ireland in the 1600's and settled in Kilkenny. Does anyone have any info about two brothers who went to Ireland then? One, John stayed in the North, the other William went south to Kilkenny. William's birth is a mystery!@
Cheers.

Two Waring brothers in Ireland

Hello, Elizabeth:
Could these two brothers be the two that sailed to the North American colonies after the middle of the century (c. 1660?) A story is that one settled in Pa. the other in Virginia--my line. What info do you have on that possibility? I know there was migration to and from Ireland, Scotland and England on a regular basis at that time.
Anything may be useful. Thanks.
John Anderson

Waring brothers from Lancashire

Sorry John, The two brothers remained in Ireland. The one in the north, John Waring's line is well documented and we have a family tree. The one who went south, William is also well documented from his time on. We just can't find any record of William's birth. His will is dated 1677, but if he is John's brother he would have had to be born about 1587 and this would have made him a very old man! A bit unusual for that time.
Cheers Elizabeth

Your message which says you have a huge amount of information about Warings intrigued me. Does it include any information about a James and Elizabeth Waring who would have emigrated from Australia to California in the mid-1800's?

Warings Australia to Canada

Unfortunately our information about the Warings is all from Ireland where they went in the 1600's from Lancashire. Our ancestors remained in Ireland until 1863 when my husband's grandfather migrated to Fiji, where he remained for the rest of his life.
