Hello.

I'm trying to trace diary number 6 of William Griffith Waring. All his other diaries were donated to Penn State University, this one it appears was kept by the family as this one contained the family information.

Fred Waring, grandson of William Griffith Waring and big band leader spoke to a Waring family in Kentucky many years ago. Both of them agreed that there is a connection between the two Waring families. I believe there is a connection between Sampson Waring of Shropshire (Quaker) and my Waring line of Shropshire (also Quakers), but I believe the answer without blood tests is in diary number 6. The diary is in Pitman Shorthand and probably isn't very easy to read, but if anyone has knowledge of this book can you please contact me?

Has there been an update to this story, 'The Missing Diary'?
Do you know which family member donated the materials and if that person also retained diary #6?
I descend from Elizabeth Waring Dale sister of William who is W.G.'s father. I am still in the area and willing to contact local relatives.

If it survives it would be in the hands of Fred Waring's family. Do you remember the big band leader Fred Waring? They may also have more documentation that I do not have access to.

PS. My Mother I believe has access to the Dale photo album. If you can give me family members for Elizabeth and John Dale and their children (and birth years please) I can look at the album to confirm that it is for the Dale family.
