Benjamin Waring of South Carolina.

JohnWaring53  (View posts) Posted: 2 Mar 2000 4:11PM GMT
My cousin Elizabeth Waring Noble and myself are working
on a major project compiling information on the South Carolina
Warings. One thing that still stumps us is where and at what line
did Benjamin Waring originate from. We have always been told England
maybe Wolvinhampton or near there. He came to Charlestown, S.C.
in 1683 with his wife Elizabeth one child and sixteen other persons and settled on the Ashley River on Kings Granted Land.
If anyone has a clue or is a descendant we would like to
hear from you.

This name is so familiar to me--I have seen her name in some of the Henagan files. Her father was a doctor near Charleston. Do you happen to know which Henagan she married? She has a diary published on the internet which tells about her childhood experiences during the civil war. Fascinating. Will exchange information. emvee@kingwoodcable.com

Find any records of her birth or death. The issue 1. Ann Rhodes Hennegan 2. Mary Gibson Hennegan
Hopes this helps. I would gladly exchange info with you.

Robert Young Hayne Henagan was the son of Gov.Barnabas Kelet Henagan of Marlboro Dist,SC., and his wife, Mary Savage Gibson.Barnabas K. was the son of Darby Henagan and Druscilla Sweeney, and I can go back one more generation. Gov. Henagan was the brother of my g.g.grandmother, Mary Cival Henagan, who married Benjamin Bridges, Jr.They eventually settled in Little Rock, AR in 1850. Gov. Henagan married (2) Ann Maria Wickham Ellerbee, no issue. I am delighted to have your information. I have quite a bit on this family. Also, I am descended on my father's side from the first Landgrave of SC, Thomas Smith. Tell me how much your computer will hold (:-) and I will
send you my lines, or at least the Henagan line, if you are interested. Gov. Henagan, who was also a doctor, was the uncle of Col. John Henagan of "Kershaw's Brigade." That was a family of over-achievers until they got to Arkansas. Thanks a lot, and email me if you want the ftm genealogy report or outline descendant tree--it is still a work in progress, but I will be happy to send it. Mildred.

Anyway hope this will answer your questions.
For further information or details please let me know

Thanks

Thanks for the information. But you did not say
if the descendents from Morton Alexander Waring
matched what you believe is correct.
You refer to him as Dr., the records I have
(family letters, etc.) refer to him as
Colonel. Could this still be the same
man?
I am researching the Webb family, have
portions of the Daniel Cannon Webb diary, as
transcribed by Waring Webb Hills, III.
It mentions Warings frequently.
Thanks again.
