I believe that these individuals are connected. Did your Thomas Dickinson have a father of the same name? That would fit the time-frame. The photo I have shows a man that looks older than 27, however, he may not have aged well... :) If you want to see the photo, please send me an email to: northern_girl2000"at"hotmail.com and then we can see if this is your family member. I hope so, as I'd like to see him go home. :)

Waugh family of Waughtown, North Carolina

I'm looking for information on James Waugh and his wife Elizabeth. James purchased land and then named the land Waughtown, which was probably around the Winston-Salem or Broadbay area. James was born in Adams County, Pennsyvania. He had quite a bit of children, and one of his daughters married into the Courts family. I would like to know any information known.

Hello,

I just saw your post today. I am a distant cousin of Charlotte and Gwen. My grandmother, Angeline (Caffee Price) Fitzhugh was the daughter of Marion Frank Price, one of John Will Price's uncles. "Daddy" Frank died in 1971 but I knew him well. I see that you have been to my family tree and I hope your fiance has found some answers there. I've been working on that branch lately and it looks like I need to create a tree JUST for them. The family is huge and if you're not careful, you'll attach the wrong children to the wrong parents as I have done in the past...lol. I hope I've made the right corrections.

I had Gwen's address and phone number. I will look for it and let you know if I find it. Email me at nitahew1808@aol.com that way I can email it rather than post it here.

Love and Blessings
Anita Hewett-Williams

Hi Mallory,

My name is Barry Garcia and we are related, because my mother was Franks daughter Judy. Frank had Irene Waugh had 5 children in all Jan, Judy, Billy, Barry, and Nancy. Barry died when he was 9 of scarlet fever I think. I am named after him. Frank and Irene lived in Beaumont Texas until there death in 1990 and 1999 respectively. My mom and dad still live in Beaumont,so does Billy and his wife. Jan and her husband live in Dallas. Nancy lives in Houston. Since I was the male born to the family there are no more Waughs from Franks family. My wife and I live in Houston and we have two girls. Please fill free to contact me if you won't more information about Franks family.

I believe that your Wickliff married my g-g aunt Laura Mae Deskins. I followed them through South Dakota, Kansas and then Oregon. While Laura disappears from the census between 1910 and 1920, Wickliff is in Oregon. In 1930 he is living with his son, James. I found Wickliff and Laura M on the 1900 Davison Co. SD census with 4 daughters: Ada C.,Eva B., Maggie, Nellie and son, James. HOpe this helps.

Eugene's father was John Dewitt, born NY. Eugene is mislisted as born New York when it should be New Jersey. He marries Permelia Badgley aka Augusta, daughter of Leonard & Permelia, all born Duchess Cty, New York. John Dewitt is son of David & Sarah. This may be where you get Sarah from. They live in Hudson, NJ and have 3 children: Sarah b 1854, Eugene b 1856 and Arthur born 1858. I am tracking Eugene who moves to NY and marries Hattie M Randall. A lot of mistakes are in the 1900 census for them including both birth years and dates.. Once you plot this info in you should find some trees to sync with.
Hi ROger,
All I've got that is new is the 1911 census. THey are in Glasgow with the three children VIolet, Elijah and Samuel. He is noted as a Stationary Engineman in a Chemical Works. May was shown as born England instead of Wales. William's parents are living with the family, Jane and Samuel WAUGH. Samuel was a municipal lamplighter.
May is shown as having had 4 children of whom 3 were still alive.
Jane Waugh is shown as having 4 children, all alive. SO that means her 2 children Mary and Jane by her first husband JOhn Biggar were still alive. William Waugh had 2 step sisters.
That is all I've found. NOt had time to do much research.
Joanna

Jane Waugh

I am trying to connect to the right family but keep running into the same problem. Here's hoping that someone has the answer.
I have Jane Waugh and William Davis married, living in PA and having a large family.
Daughter Jane married Martin Reese in 1808, Northumberland, PA and they moved some years later to Illinois.
This data conflicts however, with other sources that show none of the children of William Davis and Jane Waugh marrying Martin Reese and instead their daughter Jane is shown as marrying Mr Hunter.
Has anyone been able to confirm Jane Davis (Martin Reese) to Jane Waugh and William Davis?

Hi Michelle, my name is Roger Julian & Mary/May Waugh formerly Julian was my g aunt. I have been in contact with Joanna Waugh in the past & she has given lots of info etc but the holy grail for me in my search is a photo of Elijah Julian/Julier, May's father (my g grandfather) a ships officer in the merchant navy b 1841 in Caister, Norfolk uk d 1925 Dover, Kent uk. I have the Julier/Julian family going back to 1540 (the tree is posted on ancestry)
Mary /May Julian was born in South shields in 1876 & moved to Scotland after marrying William Waugh. William Waugh shows up on a census, living as a lodger at her sisters house in Dover, I think this is where they met, her sister was Emily Violet Cousins formerly Julian. If you have anything further on Elijah or May would you kindly contact me! Regards, Roger Julian.
