I have been out of the loop for some time, but just got a bee in my bonnet to get back in the saddle re: genealogy. Actually, it's been YEARS!!!

That may be my dad's father. I don't know where he is buried, but I'm fairly certain it would be in that area. He was a market gardener, so obviously had land, large enough to grow substantial sized crops (one of which was watermelon).

He died in 1951, I think.

Dear Sharon,
I am interested in buying a copy of your book on the Weekley's. My friend is a desendant on his mother's side and I would like to get it for him as a surprise birthday gift if it is still available. His mother is the daughter of Lydia Ann Weekley who's father was Henry Weekley the son of John D. Weekley the son of J. George Weekley. It has been traced back to your Thomas Weekley of Virginia and Maryland. My email is paddyhall@msn.com. Will wait for your reply and hope you still have copies to sell. Thanks, Patricia Hall

Hi,
I'm seeking information on my family with the last name weekley. The known two places they lived was Ohio and West Virgina. My grandparents went to west virgina in the late 1800's and began having children there. I have all my families names but I'm wondering if theres someone out there that also has weekley blood. Weekly was also one of their known spellings of their last names before the 1930's. If anyone has any information respond to this or email me at mirahearle@live.com

Hoping someone can tell me where Lewis B Weekley, son of Joseph Palmer Weekley and Catherine Weems, and his wife Alice Ford Weekley are buried in Bay Minette. Transcriptions of their death records on familysearch.org show they were buried in Bay Minette (links below).

Lewis - https://www.familysearch.org/search/recordDetails/show?uri=h...

Alice – https://www.familysearch.org/search/recordDetails/show?uri=h...

Findagrave.com has a record for Louis B Weekley (1861-1930), son of James Clayton Weekley and Caroline Mathers, buried at Perdido, but I have not found a record for this L. B. or his wife on FindAGrave.com, the Baldwin County Historical Society, or the Alabama GenWeb sites. Any information will be greatly appreciated.
Paul Nichols

Elijah Weekley/Sadie Hughey of Virginia/Missouri

I'm trying to find info on my g grandfather, Elijah Weekley, born in 1841 in Virginia and son of James Madison Weekley born 1816 in Virginia. As of the 1870 US Census, Elijah lived in Macon County, Missouri. Elijah married "Sadie" Hughey (his second wife)in January of 1889 in Missouri. They had two children, George Thomas and Frankie May. Sadie died in about 1896. I'm having a great deal of difficulty finding any records or information on "Sadie" Hughey, although I've found a Sarah Hughey and I believe Sadie was a nickname fo Sarah at that time. I'm just looking for any information or leads that will help me establish definitively that I'm on the right track. Thanks for any help you might be able to give me.

I would love to share info with you. My email address is sheabee@rcn.com I was wondering how are you related to William Martin Weekley? He is my great grandfather. His son Emerson Merwood Weekley is my grandfather. I can give you all I have. I don't have any info on the Weekley family past William and am very greatful for your help. I do have a ton of info on the Loy family. Very long family tree, I have done a lot of checking and so far what I have found seems correct. It may help you to know that Mary remarried or at least took another mans name. I can't find marriage records for the second marrage. She married Robert Litman, you can find them on the 1930 census living in Shadyside, OH. If you give me your email address I will send you all the info I have on them. Thank you for all the information. I am interested in learning how you are related to the Weekley family. Thank you.
Shea

Jean Weekley m John Stewart

I would like to know more about the Jean Weekley who married John Stewart 22 May 1756 in Lunenburg Co., VA if anyone has more information. The John Stewart may have been from Henry Co., VA. They may have migrated to Kentucky and then to Missouri by 1800.

Hi Deborah:

Your note on the internet was from 1999 - quite a long time ago - but I am a Weekley - and my relatives were from West Virginia and Ohio.

If you are still interested in talking to more Weekleys - let me know!

Darlene Weekley-Thompson

Re: Abraham Weekley and Nancy (Marks), Nelson County, KY 1800

Now I am answering my own question - I would like to have more proof but it seems likely that Nancy Ann Marks was the widow of Issac Marks, born in 1767 Ireland, died 11-10-1798 in Washington Co, KY.

Ancestry.com's One World Tree says that Isaac's wife was Nancy Ann Bull. The chldren in the household of Abraham Weekley/Weakly in 1810 (age and sex only on those early censuses) seem to match up with this being the same Nancy who married Abraham. Abraham and Nancy apparently had several children as well. I suspect one of them to be William Elze Weekly, born 1812 in Nelson Co, KY.

If you are researching the same line then check out my web site, http://drivenjen.googlepages.com. I have all of my research notes on the site.
