Descendants of Leonard Weeks (1633-1707) of Greenland, N.H.:

I'm glad to report that the new content-rich web site of the Weeks Brick House & Gardens on now online at www.weeksbrickhouse.org

The site is packed with information and photos of the distinctive 1710 brick house on the original 1656 Weeks family farmstead in Greenland, New Hampshire.

The house, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is owned and maintained by a volunteer non-profit organization of descendants and history/preservation enthusiasts. The 31-acre farmstead is now conservation land, which enables visitors to literally walk in the footsteps of their 17th-century ancestors.

The web site also includes information on Leonard Weeks & Samuel Weeks (1670-1746), local history context, archaeology, hiking trails, the Colonial-era herb gardens, and membership. Membership, as well as our annual meeting in late summer, is open to all, descendants and friends alike.

We welcome you to check out the site ... and to consider joining us in support of the Weeks Brick House.

Is there a plan to include all of the Weeks lines, or just concerning Leonard's. The site is nice, and would like to know the scope of what is forseen for the genealogical section.

Regarding the genealogical information at www.weeksbrickhouse.org:

Our primary responsibility is the care and preservation of the 1710 brick house built by Samuel Weeks (1670-1746) that is situated on the original farmstead of Leonard Weeks (1633-1707) in Greenland, New Hampshire.

As you discovered, our web site is packed with local history context, genealogical information, and links about Leonard, Samuel, and their children. However, presenting comprehensive information on our web site about all Weeks lines, even just those in New England, is beyond our scope.

With our house and conservation land, our strength will always be in providing historical, material, and environmental context for those interested in the early settlers of Greenland, N.H. (originally part of Portsmouth).

We will heartily cheer on those who are researching later generations and other Weeks lines. Personally, I know well the thrill of hard-earned genealogical discoveries!
