"My Great Grand Father's name was Benjamin. His oldest son
Charley married a Miss
Upton, his 2nd son James who was my grandfather married Miss Francis
Goff. William his 3rd son married a Miss
Wiggins. Elizabeth the oldest daughter married Quiller
Mathis or Matthews, Bashaby his 2nd daughter mrried William
Mathis Moseley. Selia 5th daughter married Alex
Berryhill. Peggy or Margaret married William
Berryhill.
The children of James and Frances are named by their grandson in a little book in the following manner: " My grandfather's oldest son married Sarah
Berry (some say
Berryhill), John his second son married Miss Elizabeth
Nail, William his 3rd son who was my father married a Miss Sarah
Banks. Benjamin his 5th son married a Miss Mary Beesley;
Wiley his 4th son married a Mrs. Delila Grodon. Charles his 6th son married Miss Jane
Wilcher. Doctor his 7th son married a Miss Mary Anna
Booty. those are the names of my uncles all sons of my grandfather James
Weeks."
The James
Weeks he speaks of who married Sarah
Berry in this little book was born in
Burke CO Ga. abt. 1789. He moved to
Mississippi and was married there abt. 1818 or 1819. My great grandfather
Elbert Marion
Weeks was born in Pike County, MS 5 Aug 1825 to James and Sarah. They all eventually moved to
Texas around 1836-1839. James
Weeks is buried in
Anderson County, TX. He died in 1860.
