Hello
I dont know much about my family history either, but I couldn't help but see that you are related to John and Jessy Weese. I have just found out (about 5 minutes before I found this) that John and Jessy are my grandfather's parents. I am trying to find some history on my family as most are deceased and can't tell me. I was hoping that maybe I could find someone who has some information they are willing to share. If you or anyone else has any info, could you please email me at lucylucille5682@hotmail.com. I would really like to know my family history. Thank you.

Great-grandparents: John and Jessy Weese
Grandparents: Robert Wilson Weese (b. 11/14/12) and Lucille Jean Weese(McClain b. 7/4/30)
Father: Shirley Thomas Weese (a.k.a Tommy b. 12/24/53)
Aunts and Uncles: Doris, Ray, Jr., Clarice, Terre, Sherry, Louise, Anita, and there are 4 or 5 other aunts and uncles I can not remember right off the bat.

I have the parents of Weese, Ann Gerany & some more siblings. Parents are: John Wees married to Elizabeth Hogle with no issue, marriage on 3 Mar 1761 & then to Mary Peet on 10 Jul 1769 and they had at least 10 children that I know of. Wees, Ann Gerany was born abt. 1774 and married John Rogers on 17 Jan 1797. Suggested that the surname was actually the good old dutch name of Arrientjie. There is a further suggestion that there are two John Wees, one married to Arrientjie Hogle & the other married to Ann Gerany Wees, so there could be some mix up on the family information. Contact me for more info. & or corrections you might have for me.
Cheers, from Lorraine Wilson, Canada
pia.wilson@rogers.com
Mr. Joe Harwick, Thank you for answering my Message Board. I am doing the Weese for my girlfriend who is Salley Deanne (Haahn) Ayers. I have been told That Mrs. Weese was an Anderson and Then she Married a James Weese then he left to look for work leaving her to take care of 5 Children by the names of Paul, Kenneth, Elmer, Etta, and George. Mrs Weese ended up given them up to family members for she didn't think she could take care of them. Then she met another James by the name of Haahn and they got married and had two boys Donald and Derald. Which Derald had past away in november 1997. Mrs Haahn (Derald Mother) and he first and second husband is buried in the Elmwood cemetery and that is Salley knows about her grandmother THANK YOU SALLEY (HAAHN) AYERS

Re: Leonard Weese

My 3rd great grandfather was Mary Weese who married Andrew Scott in Gallia County OH in 1804. Living close by on census were the households of Lenard Weese and Daniel Weese.

By abt 1823 Andrew Scott and Mary Weese went to Hamilton County IN. So did Daniel Weese and Sarah Shoard/Sheward. By 1835 Daniel Weese was dead and so was Mary Scott Weese. Andrew Scott remarried to Sarah Shoard Weese in 1835.

By the 1840 census Sarah Scott is head of household in Hamilton County IN. At some point she moved to IA with her grown children.

I have that Daniel Weese and Sarah Shoard had the following children, James, Elizabeth, Mary, Sarah, Jacob, and John. Two of their daughters married Kirkendall's in Hamilton County IN.

Lenard Weese and Susanna Rose remained in OH and I have the following children Elizabeth, Salinda (Celinda?), Margaret, Perry, Nancy, John, & Anna. I have that Lenard died between 1835 and 1839.

I believe Lenard, Daniel, and Mary were siblings. It's been a long time since you both posted so maybe you know more about them now? If so I'd love to hear about it. Thanks Donna

The Mary Weese who married Uriah Kirkendall was the daughter of Daniel Weese and Sarah Shoard (or Sheward). Mary was born in Gallia County OH. Mary had a sister Elizabeth who married George Washington Kirkendall in IN. A number of of the Weese family and Kirkendall families did go from IN to IA and eventually on to KS and other places. I have info on Mary and Uriah's children and also a lot of info on Mary's sister Elizabeth & brother James Weese and his descendants. Feel free to email me at doncar660202yahoo.com.

Hi Tom,
Daniel Weese married Sarah Sheward (or Shoard) in Gallia County OH. They did have a daughter Mary Ruth who married Uriah Kirkendall in Hamilton County IN abt 1840.

Also in Galia OH very early were my g.g.g.grandparents Andrew Scott who married Mary Weese in 1804.

Nearby according to census were the households of Daniel Weese and Lenard (Leonard) born about 1793 who married Susannah Rose. I have no hard proof but I believe these three Weeses were siblings.

Somewhere in the 1820s Andrew Scott and wife Mary Weese and Daniel and Sarah Sheward Weese came to Hamilton County IN. Daniel Weese and Mary Weese Scott both died probably around 1832 in IN. After their deaths Andrew Scott and Sarah Sheward Weese married.

I have no information on Leonard Weese coming to IN so I am guessing he stayed in Gallia OH.

We know that the surnames Weese, Scott, Shoard (Sheward) ,and Kirkendall were all in very early Jackson County OH as well. I understand Gallia County OH was formed with part of Jackson County OH.

It seems likely that William Weese is probably another sibling of Daniel, Mary, and Leonard giving his birthdate. Feel free to contact me directly at doncar66020@yahoo.com. Thanks Donna
