hi my name is jordan wei (wei yau-dan) and i am writing in responce to your post. I did some research on our family name and we are actually decendants of imperial clan. And since in china(and anciant china), people dont change their last names we are most likely realted in some complex way.
my grandfather was born in mainland china and in 1949 went to taiwan during the communist revolution. my family that i know of is dispersed all around the u.s. and even in a couple in europe. if you provided me with more info. then i could possibly help your research.

I'm looking for some records of my grandfather, last name, Wei. Chinese immigration and military records, most especially. Nope, I don't remember his name, but if the next time I visit where his body is laid, I'll jot it down. I don't remember my gran's exact name either (yes, still living), but from remembering reading the mails my gran's recieved when I was younger, it's the best I can get. Also, I'm surprised to see that I haven't seen any tree records showing for my family, or any other Wei families (from China or Taiwan, or course). Well, maybe with the exception of other people with the same surname, but I have no recognition to.

Gee, having to pay for extras just to add or view records content? How troublesome. Yes, I understand it's to pay for the site and all- but I'll do that once I am not strapped.
