As far as I know my Wendt line is here in Minnesota. But I know so little about them. I;m sure my great grandfather who immigrated to USA must have had family in the old country but I can't seem to get any information back. they say they were in an area where the records were destroyed durning the wars. So hopefully one day I will get lucky and find a connection somewhere.

The only Wendt I know of would be Lillian H. Wendt married name Partridge

My Wendt family moved from Texas to South Dakota and then to Flint Michigan. However I have not traced all the relatives yet.

None of the names you mention are in my line but then I'm ly back to 1800's. My line comes from Blankenesse, Germany My Grandfathers name was August Ferdanand Ludwig Wendt and he married Amelia Radke. My great Grandfathers name was Fredrick Wendt and he married Caroline Suckow. Fredricks parents names is Christian wendt and wife is Mary no last namd. Carolines dad was David Suckow. If you have any of these names in your line I would love to exchange what I hve with you

My name is Ares Pieter Richard Haverhoek.
My great grandmother was also Louise Wendt married to Rudolph Haverhoek. My grandfather Rudolph Pieter Lodewijk Haverhoek was their oldest son. Iam the yougest son of their oldest son Hendrik Rudolph Haverhoek. My parents migrated to Australia in 1952. If you type Femia Haverhoek in Google search you can find out more information on them although it's not very flattering. Would love to hear from you if we are related.

It would be great if he knows something. Charles Wendt's death certificate just says "Germany" and he died of irregular habits, whatever that means!

So we are related! Your grandfather, Frank Wendt, is my great-great uncle. My grandfather, Kenneth Wendt, remembered his Uncle Frank and I think he may have even attended the funeral of Vanner Wendt. I knew there were a lot of Wendt's in the area, including one that went to DeVilbiss at the same time I did, but I've never met any. Any idea where in Germany the Wendt's came from? I also have a bunch of old pictures, as I posted on Ancestry. I have 3 old pictures of Frank Wendt. I would be happy to email them to you if you would like to give me your email address.

I have recently found a sister from Chicago that was born in 1950 my brother Joe was born in 1956 I was born in 1958. My Mother and him split. I am looking for any information on Harry Wendt, B approx 1875, I have only been told that he possibly was a WWI vet who died from eating glass in a prisoner camp. I know he had two children Vern Wendt and Elaine Wendt, Vern is my Grandfather. His mom remarried and We know nothing of Harry. Any help would be great!

William(possible Wilhelm) b. June 1825, Germany. He was married to Anna Rosina Newman (Neumaan possibly) and moved to Lindsay, Ontario(1864). He lived in Victoria County, Ontario, Canada.

Children are Eveline, Whilemina, Herman, CW and Johanna.

Hi Salle, My name is Wendy. My mother was married to Melvin Francis Wendt in the late 1940's (1948, I think)I was born May 9, 1950. My mother told me that my dad left and went back to Flint, Michigan when I was 5 months old. I never knew him.When I was about 8 or 9, my mother received a phone call from him asking for a copy of their divorce papers because his wife wanted to get remarried in church. I only had one picture of him but it was destroyed in a flood. All I remember about the picture is that he was tall and thin. I only found out that he was my father by accident(I found my birth certificate while snooping) and I was about 14 at that time. We lived at 64th & Laflin in Chicago at the time of their marriage. My mother's name was Valerie Baker. My Aunt Mary Yarrington knew him well and told me very little about him. I do know he had TB of the bone when he was young. I tried to find him when I got older for medical reasons. I am having alot of problems with my health now and wondering what his health was like. I have an original 6”x8” photograph of “Aug. J. Wendt – taken 7-21-1908”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Photo was taken in Milwaukee, WI, and he looks to be about 25.

I found August J. Wendt in the 1910 census for Milwaukee, WI, living as a boarder. 1918 WWI Draft Registr. shows August John Wendt, born 3 Oct 1882, registering at Green Lake Co., WI and showing his wife as Jessie Wendt. 1920 census showed August and Jessie in Green Lake Co., WI with two children.

Hi, I noticed that you list Pieper's in your family. Would these Pieper's also be from Rugenwalde? I have Pieper/Piper's from Rugenwalde. Wilhelm and Wilhelmina Pieper/Piper. They immigrated to Illinois in 1882 with Hinrich and Amelia Schweder also from Rugenwalde.

Mainly for a relative of Arthur E Wendt, Son of Ida E. Wendt or Ida came from Germany in 1888, her Husband was John Wendt, They are buried in Dunkirk. Arthur had a brother Alfred and a sister mable and Hattie and another brother William. My fiance has carried around an army/navy diary that belonged to Arthur, it was found in a wall in a home in Dunkirk when he was a kid. We are hoping to get it back to a proper home. George Wendt?

I'm searching for any information on a George Wendt or Wendte?
He would have lived in Nebraska and would have a child out of wedlock in 1936-37. I'm assuming his year of birth would have been around 1910, but since all I have is a name and area, I couldn't be sure.
he would have been my grandfather. I'm just interested in learning more about my family history and who this man was.

wow! my maternal grandpa george wendt is the oldest brother of barbara ann!
have you been able to identify the father? i was told augustus, but the 1930 census with the 5 oldest sisters (in roseburg oregon) shows father as george s wendt. theres also a wwi draft card with the names george s and ardis wendt, but shows george as 33 in 1918.
my grandpa says that betty dean (m priebe), georgiana "jan", and patricia "pat" (s smith?) are all deceased. (the other older sisters are mary jane and gwendolyn, then born after 1930 george charles, william 'bill', karl, richard, and then barbara)
george is married, has 4 kids, my mom is the oldest, and at least 15 grand kids, and at least 8 great grand kids.

My Wendt line all settled in Wisconsin then coming to Minnesota but I'm not very far back in this line so who knows where there could be more Wendts. My line comes from the area of Blankenesse. If you have the Suckow name in your line we may connect.

Hi, my name is Salle, my father is Melvin Francis Wendt. I was born in 1958 in flint michigan, my brother Joe was born in 1956, my mother told me Mel had a child before he met her in Chicago but that was all she knew. They split up after I was born. I lived with him for almost 2 years after I first met him at age 14. I have also come across another sister just 6 months ago from california that was born in 1961. She sent me pictures of her mom and Mel when they got married I showed them to my Mom and she that was him. If this is your Dad he died in june of 2000. If you have any information on the Wendt/Went families of Wayne County, Michigan, especially Taylor Twp, Michigan I would be very interested. I do know they were in Detroit before moving to the suburbs. A lot are buried in Oakgrove Cemetery sometimes called Putnam Cemetery in Taylor Twp which is now a city.

Hello Sharon,

My name is Nicolai Bernhard Hennum Wendt, and I'm the 5th great grandson of Peter Wendt who most likely emigrated from Mecklenburg, Germany to Norway, via Denmark, ca 1760-65.
I have been trying to find back to him via german search engines and forums, but yet without luck.

I came over an old post from ancestors.com where you mentioned you had information on a Peter Wendt.
I was hoping you would be willing to share this information :)

It may or may not be the Peter I am looking for, but at least I could eliminate him from my search.

I know he was married twice, and that he at least had 4 children.

1st marriage:
Johann Jørgen 1776 - 1844 (my ancestor)
Christian Petersen 1779 - 1862
Cathrine Sophie 1769 - 1857

2nd marriage, to Anne Cathrine:
Johann Fridrich 1781 - 84

I am looking for a Frederick Wendt and his family in Germany. I have seen one whose father is listed as Christian Wendt. Do you have any information as to where he lived, wife and children he had. Frederick had his name changed by the US Army when he joined it in 1855. His name went from Wendt-Brant-Brent. Thanks for any information.

I am looking for decendents of Frederick Wendt from mollensen, neidersachen, germany who came to u.s. in the late 1800s. He settled with his parents and siblings in marshall county, west virginia. His fathers name was Henry and his mother Johanna. Siblings were Henry, August, Wilhemina, Johanna, Elizabeth and Anna. He left this area and moved to Texas, to San Antonio, or Bayside in the 1930s. I am looking for any information on the Wendt Family that lived in Adrain,Michigan My father's name was Hubert Lynford Wendt and his father's name was Charles Augustus Wendt his mother's name was Lula Levena Phipps. My Great Grandfather's name was Fred or Frederick Wendt and my Great Grandmother's name would have been Margaret Woodard Wendt that is if they were married.
