Wetherby Hurd Chase

The board search function is not working correctly so I am posting this with apologies if it is already addressed in another posting.

I am looking for information on a Charles Wallace Hurd b. 5-8-1868 in Saginaw MI to a Harriet L. Hurd

Census searches and a faint memory of Charles being said to have been adopted has led me to beleive he is the Wallace Hurd refered to in the following:

The 1870 census lists a Cyrus Wetherbee 59 and Hanna Wetherbee 37 living in Macomb County MI with children: Wallace Hurd age 2 & Mary 15, Sirus(?) 13, Edwin 9 and Isabel 8.

A Gilbert D. Chase 25 and a Lynda Wetherbee 24 were married in Detroit, MI on May 19, 1875.

The 1880 Detroit MI census lists a Gilbert D. Chase 31 and Harriet Chase 30 living with 3 children: Wallace 13, William 11 and Edna 4.

Wallace's age is correct in both censuses and Gilbert & Harriet's ages in the 1880 census corespond to the Chase/Wetherbee marriage in Detroit, but based on the marriage date, Wallace and William are too old to have been legitimate so, they may have came from a prior marriage of Gilbert or Harriet or they are adopted. Harriet L. Hurd, Lynda Wetherbee and Harriet Chase may be the same person. Anyone with a Chase married to a Wetherbee in Michigan? Does anyone have any information about a Hurd living with a Chase family around this time? Can someone advise this family's location after 1880 and if a Hurd was still living with them? Any information on any aspect of this is welcome. Thanks in advance.

Amanda,
My name is Amy (Wetherbe) . The Wetherbe family name started out with the spelling of Witherby and changed many times over the years. Im not sure what part of the family you are looking for but you need to be more specfic. Like what is your grandmother's name, What was her parents names, and her grand parents names. If you have any of this information that would be a good start. Also you might include birth dates and death dates. if you had mariage dates that would be helpful. I have a book on the witherby's that has a great deal of information. it might be of some help. our family is from england and came over on the mayflower. if you want some help please let me know and i will see what i can do!

Amy (Wetherbe)
