Does anyone please know of a Wicks family, (spelling maybe different such as Weeks) that was Welch + French Canadian and may of had such native in their lines.
First name may of been John but not sure. 1600-1700's probably in Canada and came in the 1700's I think to United States

Thank you
Candy

Marriage took place between 1871 and 1881 - from his census verification. Mary Ellen was born in Brandon Suffolk was listed on 1861 census in Brandon. In 1881 she is married to Matthew living in Lincoln, Lincolnshire with 3 children born between 1874 and 1878. So marriage took place ? Lincoln or Suffolk.

I'm hoping someone can help me find more imformation on Daisy Ellen Bird Wicks born 1922 and her brother Alfred Allen Bird Wicks born 1921. The mother is Emma Elizabeth Wicks/Wickes born 1902 but the father is unknown. We think the fathers surname is Bird due to the childrens names. This family is all from the Eastry district mostly Deal, Kent. Any help on this will be much appreciated. Thanks

Tod,

I have had contact with David Phillips as we share common ancestry on the Britton side: my grandmother Helen Katharine "Nellie"Britton Overbey and his great-grandmother Lorena Abagail Britton (wife of Francis Ralph Wicks, Sr.) were sisters. I was actually checking to see about communicating with him when I saw this inquiry. Went to the archives in Manhattan, but without his parents names, it was almost impossible to get much, besides the death certificate.I found his widows second marriage record, but nothing on him.
Again, I thank you, if ever I can be of help to you, please let me know.
Virginia

Can you tell me if you found any info on Grace living in the knickerbocker mansion? It has always be told to me that she had but with no reason why. Grace was - is my Great,Great Grandmother. And is Delbert's real name Adelbert? I have just started working on this line after working for years on my mothers side. I called my family this am to ask if she could tell me how to find the plots in Elmwood and she could not. I will be in town over the weekend. If you could give me some idea where to go when I get in the cemetery. It would be great appreacited. Thanks for your help.

Parents were George Frederick Wicks and Gertrude Maggie Martin. one sibling: Harold Clinton Wicks. All eventually settled in RI pre 1946

I got most of my info from my wife and her parents. Then I used a paid subscription on ancestry.ca to fill in any blanks or to add to my tree.

Thomas and Harriet is the furthest I can go back. Do you have their parents names/dates?

No I did not have the printout from 19 years ago. I am in southern Ontario. London to be exact. My wifes parents (Hazen and Elsie), live in the Lindsay Ontario area.

As for pictures, I have no pictures of anyone except my wife and her parents. I would love to have any pictures of
William Gordon Wicks
William Herbert Wicks
William John Wicks
Thomas Wicks

What I can do is try to do a printout of a tree and email it to you if u want. I can send it as a .pdf file if you can read those types of files.

Thanks
Joe

We are definitely descendants of the same Thomas & Harriet Wicks. . My grandfather Herman(&Elizabeth)was William John's brother.

Do you have much on the family tree of Thomas & Harriet. Could you please send me what you have and I will fill in any blank areas for you with what I have. Where did you retrieve most of your info. Was it from the family tree printout we did for relatives 19 years ago? (around Wicks reunion time in Sask.)

Updated info needs to be shared among us... What ancestors do you have pictures of, and which ones don't you have yet?? (of the main Wicks descendants)

Thomas and Harriet are the furthest I can go back for.

I do have a Dorothy Wicks in my tree here that I am doing up for my wife's parents, if you are the same Dorothy, daughter of William Herbert Wicks and Eliza Jane Lyle.
Please let me know what info your wife has on the Wicks family...Perhaps we can be helpful to each other in sharing and comparing information.

Please tell me your wife's name and how she is connected to the Wicks line. Who is her parents, grandparents etc....

Does she have dates etc as to when the Wicks came to Canada....where they came from...where they landed and lived after they arrived.

I will check all your info against my info and we can help each other complete our research.

I will be looking for your information by email....and then we will proceed from there.

****(I need to be sure we are searching the same families before I part with any documents, or pictures etc.)
I had run into another Wicks researcher that tried to claim our line and grandparents when it was not connected with our family at all....& it got quite complicated for awhile before it got straightened out.

I have accumulated a lot of info & willing to share

It's possible your wife and I are related...so I'm looking forward to seeing her information to confirm this...

Dorothy (Wicks) White
