Mrs. Julia Wilford died Sept 1919 in Jacksonville FL

from a Jacksonville FL Times Union obit, and death cert, and findagrave, this is an example of confusion. I am not related:
according to obit of Mrs Lewis Wilford and index card based on obit: "The many friends of Mrs Lewis Wilford, 46, will regret to learn of her death, occurring at her residence at Jacksonville Heights Sunday (21st in 1919) evening at 9:30. She is survived by her husband and one grown son, Oliver Wilford. Funeral will be from the residence, and interment will be at Moses cemetery at 10am (unreadable)day morning, Rev Redding will officiate."
According to the death cert her name is Julia and she is the wife of Louis Wilford. (Your guess how it is spelled). Her father was William (surname?) and her mother was Louise Bryant (suppose that was her maiden name or William's last name? You guess). She died in Ortega according to death cert., which is a Jacksonville neighborhood.
There is no Moses cemetery in the Jacksonville area. There is Julia Wilford buried at Camp Capt. Mooney Cemetery who died on 22 September 1919. (date of death? your best guess?) There are alot of Mosley people buried in that cemetery, perhaps at one time it was known as Mosley cemetery.
Anyhow I think this offers a good example of how info gets FUBAR. Solution? Look at ALL sources, then find some more. use your noggin, and finally make a lucky guess. :-)

On ancestry.com I found a John Gage male from England tht married an Amy Wilford. Spouse birthyear 1658 married in MA. The dates aren't working out for me. The source was the US & International Marraige Records 1560-1900 from Provo, UTah. Not sure how accurate their information is. Let me know if you find anything different. I'll also look up Amie Kingsbury and see what I come up with. The dates just aren't working for me.

My GGGreat Grandfather was William Morrison Kirk, He worked North Manor Farm in South Croxton. I am trying to find out about a man who worked on the farm after leaving the army because of a heart problem - he was my grandads biological father. We are trying to find out about him - we think his name was Frost. Do you know of any stories about an illegitimate child in 1923?

Look forward to hearing from you
Ruth

I just have a few questions thought, I have Josephs middle Initial as "S", can anyone confirm that? And does anyone know anything about Mary L Willford? I have that she married William H Bailey, can anyone confirm that? I am trying to confirm the Willford/Bailey connection and I am getting conflicting reports.

C Bailey

Donna, regarding your much earlier post for information on Henry Fretter & Ann Wilford married Oct 13, 1769 in Naseby and a son John B. Abt 1770.
I have an Anne Wilford B. Sept 11, 1747 in Naseby, daughter of John Wilford and Mary Cheney in Naseby. She married Henry Fretter October 13, 1769 in Naseby. They had a son, John B. abt 1775. He married Elizabeth Wilford (I don't have her parents) on Dec 25, 1806. He also married Mary Oliver on April 20, 1874 in Naseby and they had a son, Henry Fretter born Nov 17, 1799. I don'have a record of a third wife for John or the birth of a daughter, Elizabeth or that he came to Lorain County, Ohio. My family line came from a brother of Anne Wilford, Benjamin Wilford and his son, Joseph who came to Lorain County, Ohio in 1842. I do remember seeing a grave in Mounds Cemetery in Avon where Joseph Wilford is buried, for a Fretter but at that time did not pay any attention other than recognizing it as a Naseby Parish surname, but knew no connection at that time. I do have information on the parents and grandparents of Anne if you have not already found it by now. I would be interested in learning more about the Avon County Fretters. Please contact me by my below e-mail address as I seldom look at this page.
Geneva Wilford
e-mail GenevaCW@verizon.net

Wilford Photograph

I rescued a picture from an antique store in North St Paul, Minnesota. It is a small picture of a couple in front of their car (I'm guessing it is 1920/30?) There is a statue in the background, which I will have to see if it is somewhere around here in MN, but so far I don't know where the picture is taken.
Unfortunately, the only name on the back is "Wilfords" so it does not identify who the people are specifically.

The woman is wearing a black fur coat, black hat and holding a purse. She is older, maybe late 60's. The man is wearing a long black coat, and tie and wearing a hat. It is harder to see his face, his eyes are shaded by the hat but he may be 60ish as well, but unable to tell from the pic. They are not standing right next to each other, but about two feet away from each other in front of their vehicle.

If anyone has any interest in this picture. I really love to see these pics get to their families.

Renee Suchy
We know that my 3xgreat grandfather was John Wilford, born in Naseby in 1815. He married Dinah Halford. We are aware of the children he had but would like to know more about the previous family history.

Hi,

I am researching the Drapers of Osmaston and Normanton, Derbyshire. Grace Jane Draper's father, Isaac (1802-1881) was uncle to Thomas "Tom" Draper (1834-1873), owner of the pub, 'Norman Arms' in Normanton, Derbyshire. Isaac's brother was Charles Draper (1807-1871).

Tom's grandson, Ernest Arthur Sutton, emigrated to Australia in approximately 1912. My husband is his grandson and we are very keen to find out more about this family.

Cheers

Kym

Hi Pam
I totally understand your question and
this is a difficult reply really in that it would involve sharing information that the wider Wilford family may not know about; however, in order to discover more I may need to do this ........ hope this makes sense.

I come from Orford Warrington although I now live in Wigan.

I am a Vicar of two parishes Abram and Bickershaw which are both near to Golborne.

I have a close friend, from Warrington who now lives in Yorkshire; she is also a priest and she was adopted as a child.Last year whilst searching my family tree she asked me to take a look at hers, knowing her name before adoption and so at the beginning of this year I discovered the Wilford family.
If I hadn't ... then you would have been the first to be in touch :~)
My search led me to Roy's wife Carol and we have spoken and emailed many times. In fact I have spoken to them 2 times this week ..... and again this morning and he remembers you and Neil, meeting at family parties etc.,

Would you be able to tell me if Neil was adopted?
If this has anything to do with my friend then I will let you know and discuss things with you. If it has nothing to do with her then that will be that.

I seem to have got myself a part time hobby of finding family for people; but am not the sort of person who would go ahead without checking with people first. For example I checked with Roy before replying to you this morning.
Oh things can get complicated!

If you prefer I could phone you or you me?

with kind regards
June Steventon

Hi June

Yes, I do remember Roy although Im not sure I ever met him. Remembered last night that there was also another brother of Vivs called Stan that I missed off the list. I did know that Roy was not Barrys son.
Im quite happy to talk to you but obviously I dont want to be speaking out of turn as I left Neil in 2000 and divorced in 2002 and have not had contact with any of the family since (other than Neil, he has remarried and I still see him and his wife occasionally)
Can I just ask what your involvement with the Wilfords in in terms of why you are researching them. I dont want that to sound rude, its just because its not my immeadiate family so I want to be comfortable passing on the information.
Kind Regards, Pam
Hello Judy,

Thanks for your prompt reply. I would really like to see the photos although my Drapers are fairly remote to Grace they seem to have been close as a family as Grace Drapers aunt Grace was with my great great great grandfathers family in 1841 and her cousins children were with my great great grandmother and her family in 1871. I do not have any photos of the Drapers my great grandfather died when my gran was 5 and she was supported by her mothers side of the family when she was growing up.
I have had quite a few contacts with Draper relatives from the same line as mine on genesreunited but they have not offered any photos.
My e-mail address is ann.knowles@sedbergh.plus.com
Whether I could identify them is unlikely but I hope to meet up with the Draper contacts later this year and maybe they could help.
If there is any further information I can give you please ask.
Best wishes
Ann

So, I really appreciate that information.

I have a bunch of very old photos (1800's) that I believe to be Wilfords and Drapers. If I emailed some of them to you, do you think you would have a chance of identifying any of them? So far, no one has been able to identify any of them. If you want to see any of them, please let me know your email address. Thank you.

Joseph and Mary are familiar. I have already established my link to them through Dugal Campbell Wilford.
I am more familiar with the Wilford's that moved to Minnesota than the ones that stayed in Ohio. I looked up the Charles B. Wilford in Fillmore County, Minnesota and ruled him out as your line. Will look at the Wilford family tree I have on CD. Would you e me at therock_lady@hotmail.com so we can continue this off board?
Rebecca

Ohio. I made an assumption that Joseph Willford and Mary Campbell Willford would be familiar, sorry. Charles Odin was also born in OHio, I believe?

Chuck
