Looking for info on a Sarah Ann Louise Wilshaw

Looking for birth and parents of Sarah Ann Louise Wilshaw, 1864 Married to a Ernest Victor Oyns 1895, possibly in Cork Ireland died in 1929. Parents of Aileen Gladys Oyns of Bristol England, just can't any further back then Sarah. Can anyone help?

Hi I believe arthur and eliza are my great grandparents and I would love to be able to learn more from you as my grandmother Mary (their youngest daughter) is too ill to tell me anything about my wilshaw ancestors. To my knowledge they lived in the longton area and on the census my grandfather was a fishmonger I think in total they had about 13 children? A few names are, Charles, Ida, Arthur, Evelyn, William, Harrold and Mary.
Please caould you get back to me with any information even if it is to tell me I have it wrong as I have no other way of finding out.

Not sure If you will still be using this site but I am related to the Wilshaw side who married into the Thorly family where the brother and brother inlaw went on to open Wilshaw Thorly Lighting in Longton (WLT). My grandmother Mary Oakes was the daughter of Arthur Wilshaw and Eliza who went on to have around 13 children. My gran being the last born shortly before Eliza died and Charles the eldest child. Due to my grandmother being so ill and all but one of the brothers and sisters now being dead it is extremely hard to trace this side of the family. I would be so greatful if you could assist me in tracing my family.

i have just read your request for onfo, on the wilshaw name, i have a lot of wilshaws in my tree, my 5xgfather was thomas wilshaw c 1775 cheddleton, he married catherine doorbar and lived in biddulph,could there be a connection, please let me know if you need any info on them, regards joyce

Seeking information about a Hannah Wilshaw b. 1752 who married John Thorley in June 1774 in Dilhorne Staffordshire.

Also seeking information about Elizabeth Wilshaw b. 1779 who married William Thorley in Sept 1803 in Dilhorne Staffordshire.

No other details known about Hannah or Elizabeth or even whether there is any connection between them. Can anyone help?

Desperately seeking Wilshaw

Hi, I'm looking for any info regarding George Wilshaw, he died in the war in 1918 and left 4 children, Alexander (known as Alec), Helen (known as Nellie), Stanley and George. After his death Alec and Nellie were sent to Styal mill and George was adopted as a baby. I think that George had siblings named Fred and Beattie. I am struggling finding any info on the census as his children were all born after 1901, and I do not know his DOB as his military records were destroyed in the 2nd world war. Any inof or advice in tracing this family would be greatly appreciated.

George Wilshaw

Looking for any information about George Wilshaw. He was born I think in the Manchester area around1890 and died in World War 1 in 1918. He had four children Alexander (known as Alec), Helen (known as Nellie), Stanley and George. Alec and Nellie were sent to Style Orphanages when their father died. Stanley was the oldest and George was adopted as a baby. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

in 1899 stoke an Arthur Wilshaw b ca 1881, married Eliza Hannah Titterton (b ca 1880 stoke) . Eliza is one of my distant ancestors could they be related.

My great-grandfather was Charles Wilshaw who was born circa 1837. He married 19 May 1864 Judith BROUGH in Biddulph. His children were Thomas (b. circa 1865), Mary (b. circa 1868), William (b. circa 1871), Annie (b. 1873), Marina (b. 16 January 1875), Adelaide (b. 1877), Charles (b. 1879), Arthur (b. 27 August 1881) & Hugh (b. 1883). I believe Charles snr had some connection to the Ryder family. Can anyone help me with more information?

Born in 1889 Manchester to William and Sarah Ann Wilshaw (nee Court). His mother is listed as a widow on the 1881 censusChorlton upon Medlock with 2 children and then on 1901 census with 5 children, including my grandfather.I would like to find out where the family where living in 1891.Does anyone have access to the 1891 census?
