Hi I am new to the search and have discovered that I am a direct descendant. I also see a mistake under Peter G winters where it lists Noble Lynn as a daughter- he was a male child. Noble Lynn was my grandfather- all other siblings are correct. Noble lynn Winters married Orpha White (daughter of Thomas Benjamin/Millie Adelaide Faust White) had sons and daughters:
Ailene (D),David (s)Bernice(s), Laura Nadine (d)( my mother) James (s), Benjamin (s). All settled in the Kansas/Oklahoma/ Texas areas.

Laura Nadine Winters married Francis Magazzi, jr. and moved to Bethel, Connecticut in the 1950's. Laura Nadine had children; Terry(s) Laura Jean (d), Patricia Joan (d) and David (s).

Anyone looking to fill in the details on this next generation please let me know. The family bible was lost and I do not have birth and death dates.

The article is part of the answer. I'm looking for his siblings and parents. I have an ancestor who has the last name Winters, parents and family before his birth lived in Hunt County, Texas BUT this particular ancestor was BORN in Winters, but was raised in Hunt County. In others words, I'm looking for the reason this particular Winters family was visiting Winters, Texas. What's the connection? I appreciate any info on John Winters' siblings and/or family

We are sooooo close to finding John N. Winters' family. I just need to concentrate on finding his brothers and sister. The 1870 census was the last census to list them as a family. Then they all fall off the face of the earth except for John N. Winters and his sister Rebecca (Winters) Conner. I'm trying to tie my great grandfather James Wesley Winters with this particular line. James Winters is listed in the 1870 census with family, but again, they fall off the face of the earth. Where are brothers Samuel, William and sister Delana Winters? Thanks a million for all the help. We are sooooooooooooooo close, I can feel it!

In the book that mentions John N. Winters, it states he was one of eight children. I just know that one of those eight is my James Wesley Winters. I would love to know who the source was for this info. Of course, the source is dead by now, but if only someone out there knew more!!! I'm so close to knocking down a brick wall, I can just taste it!!! I'm sounding pathetic, but I'm so close!!!

Divorce and/or Death Lookup for Winters/Bingham Family Member

Looking for a death record or divorce record for Elluesa S. "Lula" Bengham/Bingham Winters. Bingham is maiden name. She married James Wesley Winters in Dec. 1880 in Hickman County, Tennesee, and then James married Nora Church 1991 in Hickman County, Tennessee. Lula's last child with James was born in 1887. So, I'm guessing something happened between 1887 and 1991. Just need to find out what. Thanks in advance for any help.

I am sorry to report I do not have much information.I am going only on enlistment records for Bay County, Michigan Civil War Veterans. Hiram was 19 when he enlisted in 1863 so his birth year was about 1844.

On enlistments for Michigan there was another Hiram ,who joined the 8th Michigan Cav. in 1846 at the age of 18, putting his birth year about 1846.

Hope this helps. I am trying to find burial places for nearly 500 men who enlisted in the Civil War from Bay County

I don't even know if you will receive this message, but yes, I believe Edwards Winters was a brother of William Winters or my great -great grandfater Daniel Perry Winters. It has been awhile since I worked on the Winters Family. If you get this & are still interested in trading some family information, please let me know.

Sincerely,
Greta

Hi,
I'm looking information available about Frederick C Winters, particular his marriage and/or death information. I do not have exact dates but he was born about 1845 in New Jersey and died around 1881 in Lowell, Kansas. He was married to Sarah Margaret Lawhead and they had 5 children (Louis 1865, John 1868, Flora 1871, William 1872, and Mary 1879). After Frederick's death Sarah married Noah Karr and is buried with him in Miami, Oklahoma.

Ideally, I would like to find proof of F C Winters marriage to S M Lawhead as well as find out where he is buried.

Please don't post census information in reply to my post. I already know who his parents are and where he was in each census during his lifetime. I'm mainly seeking proof that ties him to Sarah Margaret Lawhead, and where he might be buried.

Thanks...Claire

I do think Humphrey was at least "middle class" as it were. The family came to New York all at once in 1853, a pretty rare occurrence I would imagine. My sense is that he was a merchant. I know his son, James Humphrey Winters, was a liquor merchant and saloon owner, so it may have been the family business.

I know there was a William Winters living in Churchtown (Windmill/Rath) at the same time as Humphrey, according to Griffith's. This William was married to Ellen Daly. They had a daughter Mary (aka Margaret) who traveled to New York aboard The Continent with Humphrey and family. She eventually married David Cronin. Her gravestone in Calvary Cemetery, New York reads "a native of Churchtown, Cork." I have made the assumption that her father, William, and Humphrey were brothers. Humphrey's youngest son was William (b. 1852).

The children of Humphrey Winters and Bridget Halahan are:

Robert (b. 1834 d. u/k
James (b. 1836 d. 1906)
John (b. 1840 d. u/k but left three orphaned daughters)
Humphrey Joseph (b. 1844 d. u/k
Susanna (b. 1845 d. u/k)
William (b. 1852 d. u/k)

All born at Churchtown.

I have several other Winter/Winters families that I have found in that general vicinity either from Griffith's and/or baptismal records. I have mapped it out, but will need to review my notes before I can speak with any certainty. However, it all revolves around the general area just north of Buttevant, so your grave site is certainly well-placed to fit into this clan's heritage. Thanks!
I found the Winters plot in Killabreher. The headstone inscription reads; Erected by William Winters in memory of his father Thomas who departed life on March 16th 1792, aged 54 years. May he rest in peace, Amen.
I now have a family line that reads, John Winters b 1795-1875, William Winters b u/k, Thomas Winters b 1738-1792.
There are no guarantees in this but Humphrey could possibly be a son of William, brother of John.
The fact that there is a headstone points to a family with money as the common practice is to place a bare stone as a grave marker.
Danny

Re:Burke NC/Carter TN County Winters

Hello John,

William Winters and Mary Belew were my 5th grandparents. I'm having a hard time finding roots past them, other than the name William and/or John Winters, apparently from Ireland. No other spouse names, other than a possible/maybe Mary Pearce. Do you have any further information that may help me out?

My father's mother, Mae Winters, was daughter of (Alfred?)Carter Winters. (His mother Lydia Ann Winters, who I'm starting to think may have had Carter out of wedlock and gave him her father's name. This I'm guessing from an 1880 Census Report.) Her father was Martin M Winters, son of John James Winters and Nancy Jane Daniels.

Would it be possible to put me in contact with Clarence that you speak of?

Thanks
Jean Blackwell

Winters

I recently bought an old photo ( early 1900's?) from an antique store in Georgia. On the back is written Mr. & Mrs. Lee Winters and children. The photo is of a fair haired man, his wife and two small children. I would love to return it to the proper family.
