Amy, this is the 3rd message I have sent to you since I read you message in May of 1999. I hope you are well and happy. Please contact me. Ihave a lot of questions.My father was V.W.Cisco Jr. When and where were you born. Who is your father and mother? I believe that we are related to Jay Guy Cisco, born in New Orleans in 1844 and died in Nashville Tn in 1922. He was a very interesting man. Owned a news paper and wrote a book called Historic Sumner County, Tennessee. If you haven't already, you must get a copy of this book.. Please answer me.

I think I'm looking for the same info-I was hesitatant to pull this as a direct line as a lot of the namesake naming in my tree in the last hundred years is often males named for their uncles-my Gfather was named after one his Mother's brothers.A birth record would make it very clear,but when you go this far back it seems to be hit or miss,I also wondered about Indian records, because John has always been a common favorite,it would likely have been an easy transition.Anything becomes clear I will be adding,almost constant in research.Good Luck to us both-I fear we'll need it.

Looking for information on a John Wix.

He's the first (as far as I know) in a line of three John Wix'es.

From the bottom up, they are John Jack Wix (1815-aft 1880, Tennessee. Married to Delila Sutton), John Wix (1789-1861, born in NC died in TN. Married to Delilah Boykin), and then the John Wix I need information about.

All I know is that he was born about 1750, I'm assuming in NC. According to the 1800 Census he was living in Hillsboro, Randolph, NC as head of household with two white males under 10, one white male 16-25, and one white female over 45 which would have been his wife but I don't know her name.

If anyone has any information or needs to ask a question, I'd appreciate hearing from someone. Thank you!

Hello Amy. My father was Victor William Cisco, Jr and his father was Victor William Cisco, Sr. I am just now doing research on my family and have found some information. Suc h as apparently they we from Jackson County, TN and originally from France. I am trying to confirm this by connecting vwcisco sr and Jay Guy Cisco of Jackson
Tn. Hope this helps. If you have any other info please let me know.

robert wix - change of identity?

researching robert wix born 1866 suffolk, there is a story that he deserted from a war (poss.Boer) and assumed the identity of a dead soldier (william osborne)....william osborne went on to marry nellie jane kettle.
robert can be found on census in 1901 but not in 1911, william osborn married nellie kettle in 1905. any help greatly received....

Hiya

As far as I can tell, we have different Beatrice Wixes, odd tho it seems.

Mine was living in Chelsea until 1909, at which point she and her widowed mother moved to Hertfordshire. As far as I know, after her marriage to Graham Henry Bygrave, she was married to a Randall Christophers, about whom I have no information.

Cole Wix and Marian "Bud" Wix. They were Marion Cornelius' parents...but I know very little. They are buried at New Georgia cemetery in Paulding County.

Mabel Cole is the daughter of William Thomas Cole. William Thomas Cole is the brother of my great grandfather, John Franklin Cole. John Franklin and William Thomas are sons of John Cole and Sarah Elizabeth Ann McBrayer Cole.

Mabel parents William Thomas and Marry "Rudie" Campbell Cole died young and I've had a difficult time finding info on her and her brother Clifton Cole.

Does any one know of a Barbara Ann Wixs or wix. She was fostered by my grandmother J S Reames, in Romford Essex, from a foster home when she was about two years old. Her mum was a single mum and her father I was told was a GI. My grandmother did meet her grandfather, in I think Birmingham england. She was born in 1941, but can not find any record of her.

Marion and Mabel Cole Wix (Georgia)

Searching on information on the Marion and Mabel Cole Wix family.

Marion was the son of John "Bud" Wix and Missouri Cole Wix.
Mabel was the daughter of William T. and Rudie (Mary) Campbell) Cole. They died young leaving Mabel and her brother, Clifton to be raised by their grandparents.

marcus was working as a white slave he was working with the colored slaves he did the same work as they did ate as they did he enlisted in the confederate army for one yearoct 1864 at the age of 18 in carthage tenn, he was in many place why he served in the army, dumont's division, fort donelson obion co, murfreeboro guarding the railroad from being torn down, then in mcminvillethen he was stationed at the court house in warren county where he was in a fight that lasted for an hour and was reinforced by the blackburn bridgrade, he was wounded and was sent to a hospital in carthge tenn then he went to brownsville ky and worked as a railmaker and also where he met hannah curtis and would later marry her and move back to tenn andf have ten kids .

I would love to share! I'm new at the geneology stuff...so I don't have a great deal of documented information but.......I knew J. Ed Wix very well and Marion Cornelius was my father. I believe Miriam was my great-grandmother but as I said, it all gets very convaluted.

I belive "Bud" was Marion Wix who married Missouri Cole in Paulding County georgia. Bud was my father's father. Yes, I was born late in my father's life...after age 70.

Russell Howard Wix, age 59, of Portland died Thursday, July 20, 2006.

A Sumner County native, Mr. Wix served in the U.S. Army as a SP5 in Vietnam and was employed by the City of Gallatin. He attended the Christian Faith Church.

He was the son of the late Russell Edward Wix and Mildred (Davis) Wix of Gallatin.

Survivors include his wife Juanita (Halcomb) Wix of Portland; son, Mark; daughters Kim of Portland and Mande (Doug) Presley of Oak Grove; brother, Darrell Wix of Robertson IL; sisters, Gayle Thayer, Bethpage, Vicki Landerous, Gallatin, Debbie Wix, Gallatin, and Teresa Williams of Gallatin; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Services were held Sunday, July 23, at Portland Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Davis and Bro. Ricky Graves officiating. Interment is at Old Brush Cemetery.

Note: abt. 1854 she married Elisha Marion Sparks of the same county.
