BELLVILLE: Mary Sue Wolfgang believed in kindness. A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up to make new flowers. Her gift will live on as she passed away Tuesday morning, January 3, 2012 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. She was 68.

Mary was born February 23, 1943 in Sarton, West Virginia the daughter of Donald and Viola (Broyles) Payne.

Her family moved to Richland County, Ohio in the mid 50s where Mary graduated from Bellville High School in 1961.

On September 27, 1963 she married Harold Gary "Skip" Wolfgang who preceded her in death on November 3, 1987.

Mary worked at in the market at Sandy Hill Fruit Farm, Lex Lanes, and retired from GI Industries in Bellville.

Very active, she enjoyed bowling on the league at Lex Lanes, nearly every night of the week. She was also involved in a ladies golf league at Little Apple golf course in Bellville.

Mary enjoyed tending to her flowerbeds, and was known to be just about "the best mushroom hunter around". When she was no longer able to work outdoors she liked watching the birds outside her window.

She was sharp and often played along with her favorite tv game shows, including jeopardy. She also liked crime shows like CSI and Law and Order.

She is survived by her four children and their spouses Gary L. and Dawn Wolfgang of Mansfield, Ohio, Lisa K. and Johnny DeMoss of Bellville, Ronald A. and Katie Wolfgang of Butler, OH and Sandra A. and Thomas Armstrong of Bellville, nine grandchildren Shawn, Cody, Teri Lynn, and Hunter Wolfgang, Michael and Lora DeMoss, Christina DeMoss, Heather Thacker and Mary Ann and Kelly Armstrong; three great grandchildren Xander Thacker, Madison and Aiden DeMoss; a sister and brother-in-law Delores "Dorty" and George Raines of Mansfield, a brother and sister-in-law Kenneth "Skeeter" and Linda Payne of Bellville, and two special aunts Betty Weikle of Ontario, OH and Bertie Weikle of Union, WV, along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother James "Jimmy" Payne and a sister Donna Parker.

Friends may call Friday, January 6, 2012 from 1-3 and 5-7 pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home where the funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 pm.
In keeping with Mary's easy going personality, the family requests that those in attendance arrive in casual attire. Pastor Chris Thomas will officiate.
Burial will follow in Zion Four Corners Cemetery near Butler, OH.

As a reflection of Mary's generosity, memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital may be made through the funeral home.

Franklin R Wolfgang, 76, of 1154 E Main Street, Hegins, died Friday, March 4, at his residence.
He was born on Monday, September 3, 1934, in Hegins, a son of the late Albert L and Ruth C (Shadle) Wolfgang.
He was a truck driver throughout his life and had retired from Van Heusen, Schuylkill Haven.
He was preceded in death by a son, Randy L. Wolfgang.
He is survived by his wife Rosemary (Sabotchick) Wolfgang, to whom he was married for 43 years.
He is also survived by two sons Richard L. Wolfgang and his wife Kathrine of Halifax, and Dennis L. Clark and his wife Judith of Pitman; three daughters Sharon K. Glass of Carlisle, Donna M. Melocheck and her husband Kevin of Ashland, and Karen A. Sheriff and her husband Kenneth of Palmyra; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; four sisters Eleanor Boyer of Lebanon, Mary Steckley of Valley View, Daisy Koppenhaver of Syracuse, NY, and Anna Mae Spotts of Carlisle; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Tuesday, March 8, with Rev. Gerald Frey officiating.
Burial was made in the Church of God Cemetery, Valley View.

(7 Apr 1893- 24 Jun 1974) in my 43,000+ WOLFGANG database
with her husband Harry Henry WOLFGANG and their 11 known children.
I also have her parents & grandparents.
There is NO German Lutheran Cemetery in Ashland, PA. Anna & Harry are
buried in the Citizen’s Cemetery, in Lavelle, Butler Twp., Schuylkill Co., PA.

My husband's Grandmother was Annie Knock Wolfgang. Her whole family died of scarlet fever around 1899 when she was 6 years old. They lived in Butler Twp., Schuylkill County, PA. I'd like to know the names of her parents and siblings. I believe they were buried in the German Lutheran Cemetery in Ashland, PA.

Elizabeth "Betty" Wolfgang Jarzomski Elizabeth "Betty" Wolfgang Jarzomski, 85, of Erie passed away on Friday, August 7, 2009 at Hamot Medical Center. She was born October 31, 1923, in Punxsutawney, Pa.
daughter of the late Jacob Samuel and Elizabeth (Patton) Wolfgang. She was a lifelong member of St. Hedwig Church and its Rosary Society. She enjoyed baking and caring for her children and also gardening. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alphonse A. Jarzomski on February 12, 2009, a daughter, Mary Margaret Jarzomski, a brother Thomas Wolfgang and a sister Violet Fetzner. Survivors include three sons, James P. Jarzomski, David J. Jarzomski (Mary Beth), Daniel J. Jarzomski (Diane) all of Erie, two daughters Elizabeth Clark (William) of Corry, Pa. and Theresa "Terry" Jarzomski and Keith West of Lawrence Park, Pa.

Looking for information on George Wolfgang - he was born John Janz in 1895 in Muswellbrook NSW to John and Sarah Janz. John's father took him to live with his aunt Johann Wolfgang when he was 2 as his mother had left to live with William Frost hence the name change.
George married Emmeline Punch in 1923 but the marriage ended in divorce a few years later.

I have a photo of my mom and uncle as small children. She always told me that it was taken on the porch of Bessie and Frank Seymour's house while they were visiting. Bessie was an aunt of my grandmother (Mary Dell Brown Seastone). Mom told me that on that visit, she saved a baby (the Seymour's baby?) from falling out of a second story window. She grabbed the baby's ankle and held on to him, screaming till the adults came. Is this a story that you might have heard, as well, Rachel?

I have their children as Nettie Ellen, Bessie B, Stella, Dora, Mary Etta, and George W. I am descended from Nettie Ellen who married George Edward Brown in Kenter MI in 1894. 1866 in Indiana. They had a daughter Charlotte b.1869 in IN.
By 1875 they were in Gratiot, MI and in 1900 they were in

and died in Beattie, Marshall Co, KS Jul 10, 1910.
The information about his descendants in our file
was supplied to us by your Aunt Rose (Rosaline
Joan Hawley).

John Dieter Wolfgang was born in Lehigh Co, then
moved to Schuylkill Co with his seven siblings and
parents about 1795. About 1803 John Dieter Wolfgang
moved to Western PA (Armstrong Co). John Dieter's
younger brother, George, is my g3 grandfather.

We are technically, fifth cousins, our mutual ancestor
being John Dieter's father, John Michael Wolfgang, a
Revolutionary War verteran and son of our immigrant
ancestor, Michael Wolfgang

Your Aunt Rose was corresponding with Diane Waldner Lippincott.

If you have a genealogy program, I'd like to send you
a copy of our database if that is of interest to you.

My mother was Beulah Wolgang (Sis). She was the second eldest of the Wolgang kids. Your Mom, Betty was next to the youngest. I remember visiting your parent, Betty and Orville, when I visited my Grandparents. That was when you were living in Frankfort, KS. I did a little more searching and your g.g grandfather was born on July 19, 1850 in Schmoelin, Saxe-Altenburg, Germany and died in Albany, NY on February 17 1928. His full name
was Ferdinand August Wolfgang.

Yes his full name is Ferdinand Augstus Wolfgang. He had 4 children - Frederick, Edna May, Kenneth, & George. George had 3 children - Dorothy, Joan, & Alton. Joan had 4 children - Peter, Louis Jr., Mark, & Linda. Linda had 3 children - Me(Garth), Jon, & Lars II. As you can see I am missing a lot of me cousins and distant relatives. I hope we can peice together our family tree.

I am the great-great grandson of Ferdinand Wolfgang and have been working on our families geneology with little success. I would love to hear from others who have any information about my family. There are many holes in our writen history and need to fill them in. I understand that the list of family members could be large, I could use the help in sorting it all out.
