Since yours was an old post that I just found I don't know if you have the following info:

I found this info on http://files.usgwarchives.net/ms/forrest/military/ww1/regist...

Woodruff, Allen Thurman 10 Aug 1888(birthdate) W(Race) Lincoln IL(birthplace) Forrest MS

I think Allen Thurman and Thesman A Woodruff are the same. If so he is the brother to my great grandfather Leonidas Doan Woodruff. Both were born in Lincoln, Illinois. Their father was John G Woodruff and their mother was Mary.
Allen Thurman Woodruff owned the Woodruff furniture store in Hattiesburg. (From An Antique Radio forum: It turns out that during the 1920s and 1930s the Woodruff Furniture Company was a major business in Hattiesburg. In fact, it supposedly started the first Mississippi commercial radio station, WRBJ…”Woodruff Radio Brings Joy”.) I hope this helps.

I do not have any other information about Worley. Samuel J. Woodruff, born 2 March 1858 in Henderson Co., TN died 19 June 1950 in Johnson Co. TX. Part of that information came from the 1860 Henderson Co. Census, Middlefork, Dist 6., the Johnson Co. TX 1900 census. The information that he was buried in the Prairie Springs Cem. in Johnson Co. TX came from Garrett researcher Raymond Garrett.
The information about the children came from the 1900 census. If you have additional information, I would appreciate adding it to my information on this family.

Is anyone researching the Woodroff/Woodruff family of Halifax, 18th-19th century? I am trying to find out more information about Richard Woodroff, who was a furrier and/or leather draper based upon various census records, and his wife Elizabeth Full. I have a little information from the records online in Nova Scotia but no idea who they were or where they came from or who all their children were.
Richard Woodroffe married (per marriage bond) 19 Nov 1791 Elizabeth full. His bondsmen were Richard Woodroffe, leather draper, and Thomas Full, mariner. That's all I have that isn't based on deductions from other marriage bonds.
I'll also post this in the Woodroff forum...

It's an old photo - I am not good at dating old photos, but am guessing 1880-1900? I'd love to get this into the hands of family. Please contact me if Sadie belongs to you.

I am not aware of any of my ancestors in Kansas. Have you any way to narrow the date of the pictures down to a census year to check for Woodruff in Colony, Kansas? Have you been able to tell if Mr. Wyatt lived there at any time?

I did a quick search and could not find him as a photographer through Yahoo.

Ed

Hello, I have undated photographs, taken in Colony, Kansas by C. B. Wyatt of "Uncle" and "Aunt" Woodruff. Do you suppose there is any possible way to find a home for these photographs. They are part of the Charlotte Collie Collection in Boulder, Colorado. My interest in the collection is the Bard family, but I would love to find homes for some of the other photos... Thanks, Lundie Dyer

I am trying to find information on Caleb Woodruff, b about 1804, possibly in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. He died 3 Oct 1854 in Braggs, Lowndes County, Alabama. He married Priscilla Leatherwood (b Abt 1803 in Spartanburg County, SC, d. 1880 in Braggs, Lowndes County, Al). I have found Leatherwoods in Woodruff, SC but no definite connection to this Caleb or Priscilla.

Do you have any information that might help?

Ed Woodruff
