Working family in Minnesota

I am looking for information on the Sarah Jennie Working Hepp family that resided in Sibley and/or Le Sueur counties the mid 1800's to mid 1900's:

John Hepp (1857-1942) married to Sarah Jennie Working (1864-1948)

John and Sarah Jennie apparently knew family members from many of my family tree branches (Boldt and Lindorf), both in the Henderson and Cleveland areas. Family rumor is that John or Sarah may be a biological relative of mine, also.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Penny in AZ
I just saw your posting from 2005. Did you ever get a response? Lydia Working is the half sister of my GGGrandfather, Jacob Workins. She was one of 3 sisters to marry 3 Schrock men. She married Solomon in 1866 according to sources I have found in my search for information about her father, Jacob Henry Working. Not sure that helps any, but...

It appears that 2 sons of Adam Workinger (1791-1858) of Ohio, moved to Indiana. One was my ggGrandfather Moses Workinger, who changed his name to Working. The other I think was Samuel Workinger, who changed his name to Working and then Workings, and moved to Ensley, Michigan. I believe his family then moved to Texas. If Samuel is one of your ancestors, please contact me.

Dale Working
Michigan

Virginia,
I only have Eleanor's family back to Samuel D. Workings b 1826, Ohio. I would love to have more. All the way back to Anton in 1650 would be wonderful. Thanks for giving me Eleanor's siblings, I wasn't able to remember them all. I think you can access my email address here, if not, I could email you directly? Are you still with bigfoot.com?
I've been searching the 1930 visual Census for these elusive Workings, and I remember Eleanor saying they once lived around Morley and Stanwood, but many of those Census pages are blurred, and I haven't been able to find anything useful. I'll let you know if I stumble onto anything good.
Thanks for all your help

Re: Working/Barrick

Hi Billie,

William J. Working and Susanna Barrick appear in the Maryland census for 1850, in the Petersville district, page 395. At that time, the couple had two children: Robert O. and Laura V.

William J. was born in PA in 1824, Susanna (as you know) born in 1822, daughter of Cornelius and Mary Barrick of Creagerstown, Frederick County. William J. was a wheelright.

By the 1880 census, William J. Working was living in Loudoun County, VA, age 58, married to a second wife, named Ann E., age 31 and born in VA. There were children of both marriages in the household:

Robert O. age 30, b. MD mother b. MD
Laura V. age 23 b. MD mother b. MD
Mary J. age 19 b. VA mother b. MD
Sarah E. age 16 b. VA mother b. MD
Norman L. age 8 b. VA, mother b. VA
Nora E. age 4 b. VA, mother b. VA
Paul E. age 1 b. VA, mother b. VA
and a nephew of William, Henry A. Working, age 18.

So, looks like Susanna and William relocated from MD to VA between 1880-23=1857 and 1880-19=1861 and it looks like Susanna died (in Loudoun County??) between 1880-16=1864 and 1880-8=1872.

We haven't e-mailed for a while. Any good finds lately? I'm working on Simon Barrick, youngest son of Cornelius, right now. So far, six of the 14 children of Cornelius had a child named John. Hope Mary Weller will pass this along to her sister-in-law Eloise Barrick Weller, it supports her hypothesis.

Happy New Year,

Janet Barrick jbarrick@compuwise.net
Virginia,
Thank-you so much for the information and answering me back!! I think we each made the other's Christmas a little nicer. Your reply to my message did not include your email number so I had to re-contact you this way. My email address is lskutt@seligmannet.com. Once we have made contact through the email then I will send my address if that is okay. I just recieved a couple of photos of Fred and Vernie workings from an uncle in Michigan. We had lost contact with each other for 11 years and through a distant cousin over the internet he helped me find my mother's family again there. So you might say by making contact with you it is icing on the cake.

Alma Alissa Workings
B) 14 Oct. 1904
D) 15 May 1975, Lakeview, Montcalm, MI.
1st MD) Abt 1923
spouse) Calvin Earl Northrup
B) 5 Jul. 1902, Silver Lake, Mi.
D) 4 Aug. 1956,MESCOSTA TWP.,
MECOSTA Co., Mi.
Children:
1.

Virginia;
I'm sorry I don't have any specifics on your Samuel Douglas
Workings, but given the time, place, and name, I suspect he
is related to a large family of Werking/Working/Workingers
who came to York and Centre Counties, PA, in 1750. I'm the
listowner of the recently-formed WERKING-L mailing list in
RootsWeb. To subscribe, send the single word
subscribe
and nothing else, to WERKING-L-request@rootsweb.com. If you
prefer a digest version, send the request to WERKING-D-request.
We'll be discussing anything Wo/erking related.
-Ted

Thank you for answering my query: This is the family I have been searching for. The only "WORKINGS" I have been able to find is Henry WORKINGS married Lavinia Turner or Farrer in Sumner Co, TN. and they lived in Sumner Co. I have been unable to find any connection between Samuel Douglas WORKINGS and any Workinger, Workinger, Working, Works or Work. The nearest I can come is an "Aaron Works" if I look for first name similarity.
