In 2006, I had correspondence with Cindy McCatchern and Cheryl Roy, regarding research into the
Cornwell, Randolph and
Wright families of
Prince William county. Within that correspondence Cheryl Roy asked me if this was MY Richard
Wright of my
Wright line in
Prince William county. I knew that he was, since no other Richard
Wright is known to have resided in
Prince William county at that time. But was he the only Richard
Wright there?

In all of the land deed information that has come to me, of Richard
Wright, his holdings have been within the area of Cedar Run & Broad Run in
Prince William county. If note is taken, the above states that Richard
Wright had "possession" of the above said grant. I do realize that possession does not prove ownership, so more than likely it was rented, but there was more than one Richard
Wright there during the same time period. I believe that one was Richard
Wright, Jr.(1765) and the other was his father, Richard
Wright (1767), son of Richard
Wright who was the father of Richard and William
Wright who expired in the year of 1700 in Stafford County.

The Moore's were friends and neighbors of the
Wright family and do bind the two Richard Wright's as being of the same family and that one was a Jr. as stated and the likely son of the Richard (1767).

This also leaves open the possibility that John
Wright (1807)was a grandson of Richard
Wright (1767), along with a Thomas and Burditt
Wright. This John
Wright had a daughter named Mary Ann, who could have been named after her grandmother. But this, of course is unknown and probably will remain so, unless other information has been found.
