Is anyone interested Fortunatus Wright, a rather interesting man who was a privateer based in Leghorn, Italy in the 1740s and 50s, preying on French shipping?

Fortunatus was a native of Liverpool. He was the son of John Wright of Liverpool by his wife Philippa Elworthy (daughter of Fortunatus Elworthy of Dale, Pembrokeshire). Amongst his descendants was Fortunatus Evelyn Wright who was living in Christchurch, New Zealand at the start of the 20th Century. If interested, please get in touch.

I am researching EVELYN's and VINCENT's. My maternal VINCENT line descends from his daughter Phillipa WRIGHT who married Charles EVELYN. Their daughter Martha Boscawen EVELYN married Nicholas VINCENT in London in 1786, and they moved to Charleston, SC at some point. Still attempting to fill many gaps. Yes, your information is wonderful, thank you! My maternal VINCENT line descends from his daughter Phillipa WRIGHT who married Charles EVELYN. Their daughter Martha Boscawen EVELYN married Capt. Nicholas VINCENT. They were married in London in 1786 and moved to Charleston, SC several years later. I still have many gaps to fill, and your information has really helped.

Philippa, Charles EVELYN, who married Philippa (nee WRIGHT), was the son of Charles (b. 3 Jan 1709) and wife Susanna (nee PRIDEAUX) EVELYN. The parents of Charles EVELYN (b. 1709) were John (b.1 Mar 1682) and wife Anne (BOSCAWEN) EVELYN.
