I have a picture postcard from 1912 with my grandfather Capt Charlie M. Young. He worked on the Ohio and Kanawah Rivers. This picture and others were taken in Pittsburg, PA and Cincinnati, Ohio. He is a heavy man with a cat hat and suit. He looks like a boxer. Other men in other pictures are Raymond Young and Kenneth Peck. Copies available to any that want them. The one picture with Irvin could be older than 1912 my grandpa looks younger in this one.

I am sorry. I tried to send the picture by e mail but it just wouldn't work. I tried 6 times. My yahoo just can't pull this picture from my files. I don't know why. I will send a paper copy to you if you are interested. I have a scanner and copier. I will need your regular address. Just for more information to make your decision:

Young man, light eyes, stocky build, around 5'5"(my grandfather beside him was 5'8") He has large lips. If he is the same one in another picture like my mom thinks, he is very broad shouldered.

He has on a suit and tie and a jaunty hat (I call cat hat?)

Hello Ernie,

I guess you thought I died. I was looking at the old pictures of my grandfather Capt. C M Young once again. I decided to see if I can try to send you the pictures again. If Ancestry download doesn't work, I will try your email.

Ernie, I am braindead. This is Christine Reynolds. The two pictures of Charles Monroe Young and Irvin Wright were taken in 1912 at "Rensler's Studio" in 527 Central Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio. Besides the two pictures I just downloaded, we have 3 more. These are in 1963 when he met up with my grandpa again at Marietta, Ohio along with many other riverboat captains. One picture says includes "Mrs. Irvin Wright".

Hello Ernie
Whenever I spot a name of interest, I have to send a minimum reply, so:
What caught my eye this time was your dad's middle name, Hamilton. My grandfather was James Hamilton Wright (1861-1903, northeastern Alabama), I also had a cousin who was named for Grandfather (Dec 1921 - Jan 1952, Los Angeles County).

I doubt if we have any connection, but I just wanted to say hello and wish you luck in your "ancestering".

Glenn

Glenn, No idea where the middle name came from. He was born 1890 , so no relatives to ask. Thanks, Ernie
