Was one of his children Harry Chester Yandell, born 1911 who was married to Dolly Dorman. He is buried in Carter Cemetery with the other Yandell and an infant daughter. Dolly Dorman is a cousin of my children, but I think they may have divorced, but there 4 children, Della, Dorothy, Barbara and Bette. I believe that the girls were all born in or around the Pampa, TX area.

I am a great-great-grandson of George Thomas Yandell, b. abt. 1861 (father to Marvin, grandfather to George G, great-grandfather to my mother Marilyn (still-living)). Some of your past posts Bobbie have been helpful in clarifying who his parents were, but I still have some questions:
The W F Yandell in the 1860 census is absolutely W Euan?
Is the William N listed in the 1870 census Wm E in the 1860 census?
These are my lingering questions that have kept me from listing William Euan and Arrena in my tree.

Your help is appreciated,

Michael Denis Fabbrini

HI Damon. Glad to hear from you. I assume then we are distant cousins! Do you have ANY records at all about the Adair family. I am trying to connect this Adair family to the Cherokee nation. I believe that they are connected through Nancy Gahoga Lightfoot, but I need some help. Anything you can provide would be great. This is the last piece of the puzzle for me. Kathy

My ggrandfather was William "Billy" Yandell, b. 1949 in Scott County AK, d. 1892 near Holdenville OK. He married Mary Jane Lane (not her birth name) in 1868, b. born in 1848 in MO d. 1897 at Eufaula, OK . Grandma always told me her mother, the kindest, sweetest person who ever lived, was full-blooded Chocktaw Indian. Mary Jane was given her name by the white family that took her in after her parents died. But Mary Jane never lost her Indian culture as she was skilled with the use of herbs and to cure many things as well as how to treat wounds of all kinds and deliver babies. She was the mid-wife for their part of the country. My Grandma Rebecca Jane Yandell accompanied her mother on these medical trips and learned the art herself.

Do you know if I can buy a Yandell family book and where I might find one?

June, thank you so much for your response. I have all the information that you sent me. Thank you anyway. I would love to have a copy of your book. We have a very interesting family history, there are so many of us looking for answers, not just on the Yandells, but on other family members and family stories. I think it is sad when one of us share our information with others and another person takes the credit for it. I received some very precious pictures from a cousin and I gave her credit for them . It meant so much for me to find her and be able to receive something that I had always wanted, a look into the past, that I have always been searching for. Angela

Hi Angela, I do have some information that will be helpful to you. Lula's fater, Francis "Frant" Yandell married Mary Jane Yandell "Dink". They were 2nd cousins. Frant's mother, (Lula's grandmother,) Arenna "Irena" Vaughn Yandell married my great grandfather, William Monroe Yandell, after her husband, William Euan Yandell, was killed in the Civil War. Dink's parents were James Yandell and Mary Ann Beeson.

Lula's sister, Anna, married Soloman Patterson. Her grandson is Harold Patterson, and his wife has done a lot of work on this family. She has been a big help to me while I write my Yandell book. Her name is Mary Patterson, and you can contact her at mpatterson@ITnet.net
I hope to have my Yandell book finished in a couple of months. It is in story form from 1650 to 1950. If you would be interested in a copy, let me know so that I can have one printed for you.. June

Re: Yandell m. Sherrard in Mississippi

According to my research, Leila Sherrard was the daughter of Robert and Emma A (or V) (Yandell) Sherrard. Robert Sherrard and Emma Yandell were married 10 Nov 1869 in Canton, Madison County, Mississippi. Emma Yandell was the daughter of William Martin Yandell. Willliam Martin Yandell (b. 11 Oct 1808 TN d. 25 May 1858 Yazoo Co., MS) married twice. His first wife was Catherine Morton Searcy, by whom he had at least 7 children. Four of these children died in the 1840’s, as did Catherine (d. 12 Sep 1843). Sometime after 1843, William Martin Yandell married again. His second wife’s name was something like Elinora Ferguson. There are so many ways both her first and last name can be spelled! She is listed as Ellnora Yandell, age 25, b. TN in the 1850 census (Yazoo County, MS.). William and Ellnora had at least four children: Susan J. (b. 18 Dec 1845); Emma A or V (b. 21 Jan 1848); William Martin Jr. (b. 09 Mar 1850); Henry V (possibly Vaughan) (b. 10 Feb 1852). Ellnora died 20 Sep 1853 in Yazoo County, Mississippi. William Martin Yandell died less than five years later, leaving these four children orphans.

Emma and Robert Sherrard apparently moved to Texas shortly after their marriage. Their first child, John, was born about 1870 in Mississippi, but their second child, Leila, was born in Texas. Robert Sherrard died before December 1877, probably in Burnet County, Texas, as that is when and where Mrs. Emma Sherrard remarried Henry Stuart Foote on December 27, 1877.

By the time the 1880 census was taken, Emma is back in Canton, Madison County, Mississippi with her expanded family, (surname is shown as Forte rather than Foote):

Henry S.
I wonder if this Yandell family in Oklahoma ties into my Yandell family in Holt County, MO. After my grandmother died in 1942, my grandpa Fred Yandell went to Oklahoma to visit family and brought back a woman we knew as "Annie". They lived together until he died in 1958, then I don't know what happened to her.
