Lisa, my great great grandmother was Frances "Fanny" Zilhart. She was born in Washington Co., MD, however, her family did live in York Co., PA for a while. Her father was John Phillip Zilhart who was the son of Johann Gottfried Zilhart. Gottfriet (Godfrey) was the immigrant of my line of Zilharts. He arrived in this country aboard the Phoenix in August of 1750. The Phoenix was from Germany. Godfrey was born in Wertemberg, Germany in abt.1724. He married Anna Maria Erhmann. The Zilharts were Lutheran. Even though some of the children were born and Christened in York Co, PA, the family apparently finally settled in Washington Co.,MD. I do not have the definitive picture, but I have the children of Gottfriet and Anna Maria Zilhart as: Christopher, (abt 1750, Eva Catherine,(November 17, 1752), Maria Margaretha, (November 29, 1754) Barbara,(1756) Anna Maria,(September 28, 1958) Maria Elizabeth, (May 1761) Sophia,(February 21, 1763) John Phillip,(June 7, 1766) and Frederick, (abt 1772).

Does any of this strike a familiar chord? I would love to compare notes further.

Debbie Woodhouse
Springdale, AR
