I am a Nickloff, and I understand that there are several different spellings, depending on the "branch". It was originally spelled Nikolov. My great, great, grandfather was Charles Sotir Nikolov from Macedonia. Check out the following URL and maybe that might give you some info. Hope this helps.

Hi, I believe the origional spelling was Nickolov, from Bulgaria. I am the great-grandaughter of Alexander and granddaughter of Constantine, whom changed it to Richard.

I am a Nicolov! And because I know so little about my Bulgarian relatives, for all I know I have family in the States. I'm first-generation Canadian so you never know. Mind you, I hear Nicolov is a fairly common surname... :/

Email me at acnicolov@yahoo.ca if you're interested in exchanging more info.
