I'am looking for any information on the
Bunting Families of Rush Kentucky, West
Virginia and especially Pa. My family from
me is Howard Bunting Jr., then Howard
Bunting Sr, Sanuel Bunting, and John Bunting.

My dad Howard Bunting Jr. grew up in Cabin
Creek WV, his dad Howard Sr grew up in
Rush KY, and Samuel moved to Rush, from I
believe Pa, where his dad John grew up.

If anyone can help, please e-mail me.

I believe that most of the southern buntings stem from Job Bunting. He was the youngest brother of anthony and Eleen bunting from Matlock, and his decendents moved from Pa. to the south. There is some information on the world wide web under bunting. There is also a world wide reunion of buntings in essex this year. You can pull it up on the webb. the reunion is July 10-11

I have a Bunting Family tree, drawn by Morgan Bunting of Darby, PA in 1895. He lists a Job Bunting as a son of Anthony and Ellen Bunting. Job Settled in New Jersey and afterward in Bucks Co. PA. HE married Sarah Perkins in 1687. She died and he married Rachel Baker in 1689.
Do you have this Family tree?

This message is to Jim Hughes. The Job Bunting which you refer to is in the book History of Bucks County Pennsylvania, p.184, 185, 186. I have not been able to connect my Buntings to this line. I have done a genealogy (8000 names) of the Delaware/MD Buntings.

In your research have you run across a William Bunting with the following brothers, Edward, John, Daniel and Cuthbert? Probably born around 1790-1815. I descend from William Bunting who married Mary Black b. 1803. trying to find who the father of these Bunting boys were. Can you help?

Reply to #38. The Buntings which I have researched go back to 1793 in Delaware. The earliest one is Jonathon Bunting (b.c. 1754, d.c. 1825) who married Catherine or Caty. They had four sons that I know of so far: John (b.c. 1775, d.c. 1813); Milby (b.c. 1780, d.c. 1822); Mitchell (b.c. 1780, d. 1816); Jackson (b.c. 1795, d.c. 1848). I do not know where Jonathon came from. Sorry I cannot help you.

Debbie,

My name is Mike Bunting, and my grandfather Howard Bunting was from Rush, Ky. he had 5 brothers (Charles, Albert, William, Samuel, and Millard) and 1 sister (Jennie). Their parents were Samuel Bunting (b.1856-1909?), and Elizabeth Stamper (2-15-1865/8-4-1945).

Your Charles has to be a brother because Rush is a very tiny place. There are Bunting's buried in old rundown cemetary in Rush. They are Samuel and Lizzie, and some of their kids.

I don't know about the given up story, but if you need anything or can supply me w/ any other info, it would be helpful.

There is a Bunting reunion in Charleston WV on 8-4 and 5 of this year.

Hi Mike,
I've got more information on Charles Bunting. His middle name was mutters.I've heard of two brothers a George and Frank. Frank was killed in a mining accident in Illinois. Also 3 sisters Annie, Glenna and Carrie.Theres also some half bros.and sisters
P>Charles was living in Ohio when he came to WV to work and thats where he met his wife Helen Peters. There children are CW (charles wansby), Norma Jean,Terry Dwayne,Anna (Patty)
Tena Sue,Melton And Michael. In 1961 there mother, Helen was killed in a car accident.
When mike was around 5 or 6 his family went to a family reunion in Rush Ky.It's possible that you and my husband mike are cousins.
Please keep in touch and thanks.
