I am looking for information on my great grandfather, Joseph Scott Haycock, Jr. He was born in Utah around 1905, also any info about his father, JS Haycock SR. Thanks

My grandfather was also a Joseph Haycock. He
came from an area south of Provo (the name
escapes me right now). I visited his brother,
Alma, who died a couple of years ago. He showed
my mother and I pictures of his grandparents. He
has family still living in that town. And my
mother has done some geneology work and may
be able to supply more information.

Maybe you can help me locate James Wayne Haycock. I was in the Navy with him stationed in LasVegas from 1960-1963. I think he was a member of the LDS Church. He would be 57 years old now. The last time I saw him he lived in Phonix, AZ.

Thanks

My mother was a Haycock, with 9 brothers and
sisters, but none of my cousins were James.

Her uncle and his family live in Nephi, Utah.
I have not met any of them except Uncle Alma, who
died a couple of years ago. He would have
grandkids about my age.

I think it is Panguich Utah. My grandfather was Cecil Haycock. He was born 3/14/1899 in Panguich to William Dawson Haycock. (I don't know his mothers name at present) He had a brother named Joe. He married Orthella Lefevre and move to Idaho. My mother was Cecil's daughter and Joe was her uncle. My mother, Amy Haycock (now Amy Starry Thiebert) lives in Twin Falls, Idaho. She had a Sister Jean Haycock and a brother Larry Haycock, and a half Brother Clair Haycock. Jean lives in Burley Idaho, Larry in Twin Falls, Idaho and Clair in Las Vegas. My mother, Amy Haycock married John Starry, of Santa Ana, Calif. and had 4 sons, Kirk Starry (Boise Idaho), Earl Starry (NY,NY), ME (Houston TX) and Carl Starry (Dallas TX). If you would like more information, please let me know. Also, please e-mail me what you know about Joe Haycock and your place in the Haycock family Tree.

Stuart, do any of your mid/early1800s Haycocks go back to Ohio, Indiana, or Iowa? I have nothing in Utah but a couple of stray Haycook/Haycock lines are in those states.
Also, can you trace back to NJ on any of your Haycock lines? The original spelling of my name was Haycock and some branches retained it over the years. These original families were all in northern NJ before 1840.
There are a lot of Haycock lines that are not related to the one I'm tracking.
Thanks Rich (rhaycook@mitre.org)

My ggrandmother was Ella Haycook who married Don/Dorsey Marietta in Iowa in mid to late 1800's. Had children in 1889, 1983 and 1899. Lived in Atlantic Iowa. Don't know much else. Do you have any info on her family?

Thanks,

Beth, I have very little info on the IA Haycooks and every tidbit that I can gather is probably a step closer to cracking the mystery. I'll see if there is some mention of Ella and will let you know. Note that there is a (good?) possibility that the name was actually "Haycock" (see-kay vice double-oh kay) but that is a common variation. That time frame (Ella would be born about 1869) is right to be related to the other IA Haycooks/Haycocks that I have. If you have any other clues about her please let me know. My email is rhaycook@mitre.org, which is actually quicker than carrying on a conversation on this board. I'll post and private email you if I find anything. Rich
