Hello Mary, Thankyou for the response. The earliest Loughhead I can identify is a Rev. Robert Loughhead, Ireland around the late 1700s. He would be your relative if you are connected with James.

From memory my line is...Rev. Robert Loughhead who married an Elizaeth Stuart. Their son James married Eliza Knox (this is mostlikely your James)Their son John Knox Loughhead married Emma Germein. Now specifically my side, their son, Rev. John Isaac Loughhead married Antonia Schwartz who were my mothers parents. Other children of John Isaac and Atonia Loughhead were Harold (dec) Majorie (dec) Doug (dec) John (dec) Ron (dec) and my mother who is now 84.
I have a bit of info and some photos, copies of church minutes from Ireland in regard Rev. Robert who was discimunicated and started his own church. Of particular interst to you are legal documents re James claims to his parents estate in Ireland. James at this point now living in Adelaide.

My uncle had a proffesional research done but lost many of the documents. He is now deceased. There is a family tree that goes back, on Elizabeth Stuart to 1600 onwards. I would be pleased to forward whatever copies I have and hopefully information you do not yet have.

There are children of my mothers brothers but I have had no contact since early childhood. Fom memory there was a Jeromy, Cyndi, Colin and John who lives in Adelaide.

I have many dates, births, deaths, marriage, siblings etc

A bit about me. Early 60s, married 5 children and 5 grandchildren. Live Healesville Victoria.

Am going to try and attach a photo to this of my grandparents John Isaac Loughead and Antoia with childrem Marjorie and John. There has been a John somewhere.
Kind Regards......Ken Swincer

Dear Ken,

It looks as though we are related. I also have information about Reverend Robert Loughhead and the family tree of Elizabeth Stuart. I came across the weblink which I think you will find very interesting.

Hello Mary, If you are from James Loughhead line then we would be distant cousins for sure.
What region do you live, Australia or elsewhere..??? What is your famiy line/arm..
Have found a couple of photos and some documents..attached hopefully.
Robert Loughead, I think his father was a farmer and he the 3rd son.
The document "Informtion Taken From Letters To James Loughhead from James Hannah, Ieland" will be of specific interest to you. There are more pages.
A lot of Loughheads refered to in the link you sent.
I obtained a lot from Roots Web, in fact you can go right back to 1600s.
I think we will need at some point to be able to post material direct to each other, there is just too much for scanning etc .
There should be 5 attachments. I tried sending the documents as PDF but not accepted for this message board.

Kind Regards
Ken

Dear Mary, Have located some more info. Two pages from the tree chart my uncle had researched. I have 7 pages all up. Pages 6 & 7 cover the Loughheads, 1 to 5 the Stuarts. Also photo of Emma Germain. I know the Rev. Roberts father was James who had some brothers. I did find James as a land owner and have that info somewhere. I may have a marriage certificate for either Rev. Robert, John Knox or James. Havent seen that for awhile, my daughter in the ACT may have it. I am greatly interested on anything you have with definite Loughhead links prior to Robert.....Kind Regards...Ken

Dear Ken,

Latrely I have been chasing up on my grandmother Sarah Bernice Marshall. There is an good bit of information out there about them on the website as her father had a very distinctive name John Christopher Brock Marshall. I am afraid that my knowledge of Loughheads goes no further than the family tree of Reverend Robert Loughhead. I am visiting Melbourne in March and would love to meet.

I have now looked at the family tree of John Knox Loughhead. My wing is Gordon Germein and I am number three.

Thanks so much for sending it. That is exactly the same one that I have. It has filtered out through so many branches of the Loughheads and none of us to my knowledge have managed to get any further with the Rev Robert Loughhead line although I believe that a cousin has done quite a bit of work on it. I will look and see if I can find any of the information he sent me.

Dear Mary, Marie and I would love to meet when you visit Melbourne. Have'nt seen any Marshall's but will look out for that name and follow up and pass to you. My mother clearly remembers your grandfather, Alfred, and your father Gordon. I recall your aunt Betty (Elizabeth)Wood, nee Loughhead. She lived near us at Mansfield Park, Adelaide in the late 1950's. Betty carred for us whilst my mother was seriously ill. I remember the two eldest children, Chris and Margret, your first cousins. Have not otherwise heard of nor seen them since those years. It seems all the Loughheads both here and the USA are connected back to Rev. Roberts father James or other NOK. Can get a bit confusing, there are a few Roberts and James for example and I observe some searchers in the USA have got a bit mixed up. Have found other documents I told you about. Not good copy but will try to clean them up in Photoshop.
Kind Regards
Ken
