Does anyone know where the name McRivette may have come from in Ireland.

There’s not a single example of that surname (using that spelling) in Griffiths Valuation or in the 1911 Irish census. It’s unknown in Ireland. It could possibly be spelled differently in Ireland, but it’s hard to suggest what that might be.

Also looking - My father was Don S McRivette his brother was Harold. Their parents were Russell S. (Mac) Mcivette and Naomi Palmer McRivette. Russell listed both his parents as being from Ireland, and he was born in Michigan. I understand I have an older half brother (Thomas/Tom)? somewhere and possible other half siblings.

Yes, your half brother is still living but your other half brother has past. I am an x wife of Thomas's, our son Joseph is in the AF and has a daughter, who will be 3 on the 28th of this month. Joseph was named after both grandfather's, Tom's step father Joseph and Richard as a middle name after my father. It was a tradition in my family to name the first born male J R., but since my brother would never marry or have children, I tried to carry on that tradition with Joe.

I think I am finding that Russell's father could have been Thomas Mc River (sp) misinterpretation as what may be the cause. But I have to find more proof. Seems Russell may have been born in PA. So I need to do further searching.

Very glad to meet you, would like to know more about you. Interested in sharing email addresses? Are you from Donald's first or third marriage. Tom was born in his second marriage.
