I am the 2nd great-grandson of Pierre-Jean (Jean-Pierre?) Quinet and Marie Granje (Grange/Granger?), both born in France and married abt 1803. When they came to the USA abt 1832, they first settled in NY but then moved on to WI. My ascendancy to Pierre-Jean is by way of Archie Eli (b in OK) to Michel Charles (b in WI), to Nicolas (b in France), to Pierre-Jean. Naturally, I have a lot of people in between me and Pierre-Jean.

Can you connect?

Bob

My wife is the great-niece of Eli, her grandfather was Henry Quinnett (brother of Eli). I have a Gedcom file back through a Pierre John Quinnette. Please send me your email address. (grundmann@charter.net)

Have found since I posted the first message: Eliner ?spelling to married Urvin Barrett. As of 1870 they were living in Leaf Valley(Douglas County), MN. Other Blodget in Leaf Valley at that time was a Samuel Blodget who may or may not have moved to WA state after 1870. Not sure now if a Quinnet married a Barrett or a Blodget. Any info?

I just read your posting on the Quinette family. My GGrandmother was daughter of Peter J. Quinette, wondered if He may have been a brother, etc. to your family member. My Quinettes were mostly glass workers, lived in Pennsylvania, Indiana and West Virginia. Peter J. Married Marceline Van Dermer. Could there be a connection?
Thanks

Hello Bill, thanks for replying. The Peter J Quinette I am looking for was born in Belgium or France, abt. 1810. There is probably a connection, since our family traveled west, and had lots of cousins. Thanks again

I am looking for information regarding Camielli Quinette who married Mary Bonem of Bay City, Michigan. (Mary was my Great-Grandfather's sister). We believe Mary was born some time around 1857, but have little info about them. Do you know of any Camielli in your family tree? Thanks

My Husband, Robert Quinette, is a descendant of Pierre John/Jean-Piere Quinet, married to Maria Grange. His father is Harvey Quinette of DePere, WI: who's father is Alfred Quinnette of Brown County, WI; who's father is Alexander Quinnette of Morrison, Brown Co., WI; who's father was Joseph Peter Quinnette of West DePere, WI; who's father was Pierre John/Jean'Piere Quinet of France.

I am interested in knowing is there is some sort of Family Crest and also what the name "Quinet" means.

Would be grateful for any such information. Thanks.
