I don't see a Taylor in the info I have but I have two ancestors(Mahlon Doan and his father Ebenezer Doan-b. 10-26-1768 in Chatham Co., NC)Perhaps there is some connection.

My gr-gr-gr-gr-grandfather Jacob Doan was a 1/2 brother of Ebenezer.
He moved to here, Hardinsburg, IN in 1809, from NC. Ebenezer,s family
went to Orange Co., IN. Jacob's homestead is in Washington Co., but within
a mile of Orange Co. Jacob Ebenezer were in generation 6. That is counting
from Deacon John Done (Doane) as generation 1. I am in generation 12.

On my original post, I said Jacob moved to NC from OH. I now realize Amboy Township in Lee Co. is in IL. Sorry!

Sorry about the slip of the finger a minute ago. I started to say, "my notes show a Jacob Doan, b October 08, 1801 to Joseph Doan and Jemima Vestal who m. Nov. 15, 1780 in Surry Co., NC. Joseph was b. Oct. 23, 1759 in Chatham Co., NC to John Doane and Ruth Dixon." This has not been confirmed by me. It is merely info I have picked up from various web sites.
