I am interested in the BRIDGES family of Farmborough.My gggrandfather George BRIDGES,who was born about 1821, was transported to Tasmania (Australia) in 1846.I am keen to discover anything about his family in Somerset.

hi im looking for the parents and siblings of james parfitt born in somerset in 1791.james was married to betty(no maiden name)and they had a son hugh born in holcombe in 1828.james was a labourer.hugh was christened in st andrews church holcombe on the 20th june 1830.

Do you have any Blakes from Farmborough in your tree? I also have Hannah Dury (1844-1907) from Farmborough who married my gggrandfather David Blake in 1862.

I have a George BRIDGES, baptised at All Saints Church, Farmborough, Somerset 24 December 1820. Son of Marmaduke (Coal Miner) and Mary BRIDGES. Must be careful on age as there are also George BRIDGES baptised at the same church in 1816, 1817 and 1818.

I guess he may have been transported before he married as I cannot find a marriage for him.

His parents were Marmaduke BRIDGES and Mary GAGE. Married at All Saints Church, Farmborough 20 November 1814. Witnessses were Mark PARFITT and Elizabeth BRIDGES.

If you think this may be the right one I could possibly locate his brothers and sisters for you.

Hi,

There are only two households of LEWIS in Farmborough that do not tie into my family tree. One of them is Robert LEWIS who married Sarah SHORE around 1842. Robert was from Bridgewater, Somerset.

If this is of interest to you, I have some census records and their children's baptism details.

If you can tell me anyone in particular you have interest in I can look them up in my records.

I don't have anything on Tiley/Tilley.

Hi Helen,

The only PARFITTs in my tree (which there are many) are from Farmborough and High Littleton.

However, I do have a record of your Hugh PARFITT, baptised at St. Andrew's Church, Holcombe 20 June 1830 to James and Betty PARFITT. The only other child I have of James and Betty is Eliza PARFITT, baptised same church 26 May 1822.

There is a gap between the births and I found some marriages of a James and Elizabeth (Betty) and children between the dates in Farmborough, but possibly need more information to determine if they are likely to be the ones you are looking for.

The only James PARFITT I have was baptised around your 1791 at All Saints Church in Farmborough, 5 December 1790 to James and Martha PARFITT.

Tell me if you want me to investigate further and if you have any more information about these individuals.
