My grandfather William Hoye was born January 1866 and married Jane Martha Smith 1889. who was born May 1865
Before World War 1 they lived in Chantilly, France, where the children were born, then before the 1st W.W started they returned to Cambridge.

Hello Jill
My grandmother was born Emma Edeline Hoyes, its taken a few years to learn more about her father James George Hoy & his origins.James was born at WestMaitland,NSW,Australia
on March 06, 1869 to James Hoy & Elizabeth Doyle. James Snr was the second sibling born to John Hoy & Sophia Missen. They emmigrated to Australia with family onboard the "Constitution" in 1855. The immigration document shows they were from Fulbourne,Cambridgeshire,England. The Hoy familys from John & Sophia are scattered around Australia although many of them can be found around Newcastle & the Hunter District of NSW. Would be pleased to learn more about Hoys on the English side.
Cheers

Hello Gary,

Yes I do have John Hoy(e) married to Sophia Missen 15 Jul 1834
at All Saints, Fulbourn, Cambs
There were 12 children of that marriage all born in Australia
as I expect you already know.
Do you have a connection with a Mrs J Duggan who lives in Jesmond
N.S.W.? as I had some information from her, the last time was in
November 2003 but I can put you in touch with her if you would like me to.

I can give you some earlier information re the Hoy's before John Hoy & Sophia Missen if you also would like that as well.
Just let me know and I would appreciate it if you would write me via my email address please.
which is : jillmac@shaw.ca

MANY thanks for the contact best wishes Jill Mackenzie

I am linked to this family via Mary Anne/Marianne Hoy born Fulbourn 1807 a daughter of William & Suzanne Hoy (nee Peters)
Mary Anne married Thomas MASON (unfortunately not Missen) in 1823.
Their children married into the following local families:

Bradford
Gillson
Hart
Ogram
Rogers
Rolph or Rolfe

Some of the MASON family also emigrated to Australia they were to be found living in the Roxburgh district of New South Wales.

sorry I have taken so long to answer you Gary, but I have just returned from the UK after being there for a few weeks.
I am sorry I seem to have lost the thread but I do have the Masons and the Missen's in my tree.

Mary Ann Hoy who married Thomas Mason and also Sophia Missen who married John Hoy.
Let me know if I can help you with any of them and I will answer a bit quicker next time.
Best wishes Jill Mackenzie jillmac@shaw.ca
