I have limited information on Simeon, Joel, Oren Bradford and am seeking details on each. Also, my great grandmother, Martha Rowena Bradford, daughter of Oren, married in Iowa (George W. Snider), probably Stockport and lived for a time in Roseburg, OR before moving to Seattle, WA where she died in 1931 at the age of 88. Oliver Bradford was one of Martha's older brothers; he died in 1907 according to my records.

I am descended from Martha Oliver's brother Parker. Parker and his wife Eliza Gibson bought land in Douglas County, OR in 1877. In 1880 they were still in MO, but were "of Douglas" in another land transaction in 1882. In 1884 he bought land in MO again and remarried in 1888. Based on land transactions in OR, we have reason to believe that Eliza remained in OR.

Would love to correspond about this family. Have been working on the Hinman angle recently (see my GenForum postings).

Hi Jerry,
My ancestors come through the line Ehphraim, Simeon, Joel, William. I have the Bradford book printed by the Mayflower Society which proves down to Joel's generation. Joel's family moved to southern Indiana (Switzerland County, Posey Township). You will fine records on Orrin in the Census and marriage records. William moved his family to Henry, IL in Putnam County, and from there the line goes to southern Minnesota around Madelia. I have lots of records including burial sites. E-mail me at

Surnames: Bradford/Gaskill
My gggrandfather, Oliver Bradford, was born in Ohio, 9, Jan 1831. His daughter, Minnie Mae, was my great grandmother. My grandmother, Noma Gaskill Champion Workman, told me that Oliver Bradford had owned a general store in Ottawa, KS. Is my Oliver and your Wm. Oliver the same man?
Thank you for your help.
