I am looking for information on Lola Mae Laycock. She married Jesse Matthews of MO. She was born around IN and later moved to IL.
They had five children, Simon Peter, Arthur, Linas, Ida Mae (Smith/Koonce) and Elizabeth (McMann/Sturgeon)(my great-grandmother.)

Lola Mae grandmother was a Cherokee Indian and supposely walked the Trail of Tears.

If you have more information on any of these people or think you may be possible linked please email me at

I don't know if this is close but I have an ancestor Lucinda Laycock born about 1806 in NY. She married Robert Pendergast in 1829 Ripley Co., IN. They both died in IN. She must have had family with her when she moved to IN so you might check in Ripley Co. Historical Society in Versailles,IN.

I am researching Mary Floyd (supposedly a Miami Indian and her parents were Phillip Floyd and Becky Perigo). Mary, I believe, married R. Stricttler (or some variation), and later married William J. Laycock on 9/29/1880 in Cass County, IN. Mary and William had at least one child named Daisy Laycock. Daisy Laycock married Luther A. Chatwood on 5/4/1896. A Minnie Laycock married Daniel Moke 8/17/1893. These marriages also took place in Cass County, IN. I am primarily researching Mary Floyd and her first husband.
