Surnames: Gordon, Churchill, Lee, Waddel.
Prominent Virginia Families Vol II pg 509: Lucy Churchill daughter of Armistead Churchill and Hannah Harrison, his wife, born Jan 1737 or '38 married (12-1756) Col. John Gordon, of Urbana, younger brother of Col. James Gordon, one of the most cultivated men of his times. John Gordon came to---virginia with his brother James about 1738, and was living in Lancaster Co., Jan. 1759. John Gordon and Lucy Churchill, his wife, has issue: James Gordon b. 1759, Hannah Gordon b. 1760, Churchill Gordon B. Feb 10, 1761, John Gordon b. 9-28-1762, died unmarried at a great age; Sarah Gordon b. 6-21-1764, married Kendall Lee. William Gordon b. 8-4-1766 died unmarried. Mary Gordon b. 3-14-1766 died 6-29-1808 married Nathaniel, son of Col. James Gordon. Nathaniel Gordon b. 2-21-1770, Lucy Gordon b. 11-21-1771 married James Gordon Waddel.
NOTE: Mary Gordon seems to have married her first cousin Nathaniel, her father's brother's son.

Not only did Mary Gordon marry her first cousin, Her sister, Elizabeth married James Gordon, son of Col. James Gordon.

To further complicate matters, Col James Gordon's wife, Mary Harrison was the daugther of Col. Nathaniel Harrison and Mary Cary. Her older sister Hannah Harrison married Col. Armistead Churchill, the father of Lucy Churchill the mother of the James Gordon (son of Col. John Gordon) who married Elizabeth Gordon.

Thus James and Elizabeth Gordon were 1st cousins on their fathers' side, and 1st cousins once-removed on their mothers' died.
