I have found the church records for the marriage of John Boxold and Sarah Slade in 1812. I am new to English genealogy, did they also register their marriage in the courts, etc.? He was a bargeman - would there be other records?

My name is Sarah Joan Boxold of Walsall, West Midlands. My Grandparents are Leonard James Boxold (1909-1989) of wolverhampton and Sarah Elizabeth Boxold (nee Wain) Born 1916 of Walsall. My Great Grandparents were Samuel wain (1879-1933) of Walsall and Jane Wain ( 1870-1950) of walsall. Samuel Wain was a Bargee on walsall/ south staff's canals. His Son( Sam Jr. ? ) may also have done the same.
