Can anyone tell me whether or not the Missionary Baptist Church is the same, or different from, the Primitive Baptist Church?

I'm seeking my great grandfather's parents. His name is James LeRoy Giles born 1863 in Texas. He was a Missionary Baptist preacher who preached in Arkansas, Texas & Oklahoma in the late 1800's.

Sorry, the Missionaries and the Primitives split in 1830's. They have been completely separated since.

Nope, sorry. I am a hard shell Baptist, though. Perhaps we are distantly related. All of my Reed's were Church of Christ, and they split from the Primitives in 1834. Do you know where yours are from?
