Would like to locate descendants of my grandmother's brother. Don't know his first name, he may have been a dairy farmer in Cortland, NY. Grandmother was Ethel Sabra DeWolfe, born 9/27/1888 in Bridgeport, CT. Father-Rollin DeWolfe, mother Alice Bean. Would appreciate any help.

My Grandfather was Ralph DeWolfe. He is from that area. I didn't know his family, but I do know I am ralated to Bean family from him. I also know he was born in 1980's. I believe he had a relative named Rollin. He named one of his children Rolland. There was also other children.

I'm not a descendant of Ethel's brother, but I do know a little information. My great great grandfather was Edgar Benjamin Bean (Alice Bean's brother). Alice and Rollin had two children, Ethel (your grandmother), and Ralph Andrew DeWolfe. Ralph married Ceressa Amanda Maxfield and they had eight children (Donovan R, Rolland Dever, India Rose, Wilmer C, Olon F, Alma Bernice, Bessie J, and Morris D). So far I have found the obituaries for Rolland, India, Olon, and Alma Bernice. The most information I found came from findagrave.com when I searched for India Rose. What I've gathered about that family is that Ralph and Ceressa owned a dairy farm, and reached a financial hardship to the point where they couldn't provide for their children, so the state took the children away from them. Alma Bernice was adopted by Albert Wesley Rice, and Agnes Jean Sinclair, and her name was changed to Dorothy Anne Rice. She married George Edmund Willis, and they had six children (Dorothy Anne, George Patterson, Jaqueline Pamela, James Edmund, Lorna Isobel, and Marion Jean). Those children are probably still alive. I hope this helps a little. I'm also wanting to get in contact with those descendants.
