You would be part of my Felty line. They were all from Carmi, Griffin In, and Enfield IL. I'm not sure where you come in at. I am from the John Felty, Valentine Felty, William Felty, Conrad Felty, George Felty line. I will dig through my things and see if I can find a connection.

Yes, sorry, I have not been working on the genealogy for a while. This is good information for me. I lost my 22 year old son in December 2000, and I just "dropped out". I am trying to get back into life now. Thank you.

Hi Marcia! Hi Pam! Hi Mary!

Mary, Albert Carson Felty was my g-grandfather. His son, Harry Earnest (Ernest) Felty was my grandfather via his daughter Roberta Eugenia. My grandmother (Harry's wife) was also named Roberta Eugenia.

I never knew my grandfather, as he died two years before I was born. He died from leukemia at the age of 41. My mother told me that they didn't know the Feltys....she said her dad never talked about them much, but her dad would go to White Co. Ill. alone once in a while to visit them. Her daddy's brother (Claude, I believe) and his family did come to Texas to visit once and two of her dad's brothers did come for Harry's funeral. He is buried in Brookside Cemetery, Houston, Texas.

Always good to meet cousins.

Hi Midge, Claude C. Felty was my grandfather via Mary Frances, the youngest daughter. I have heard stories about White Co., Il. only I was told that the family lived there and most of the children were born there. However I can not find any county in the area to have a birth cert. for Claude. I tried Pulaski Co., Carmi, Il White co., no luck. City of Cairo, and Alenander County, no luck. I have searched the census records and have found an Issac, wife Ellen. Was Albert C. their son? Being new at this, I can get lost real quick. And how does Tx fit into the story? Any info would be great. Thx cuz. Mary

Hi: My Felty's were in White Co Il too. Some of them moved over to Griffin In. Several of them are buried in the Sear's Cemetary. Unfortunately they do not have markers. I visted the Felty Cem. last summer. It is on private land over by Enfield. I could tell that there were more graves than markers in this cemetary too. All of the people there are suppose to be Felty's. I'm from Nora Etta Felty, John Felty, Valentine Felty, etc.

Hi Cousins Mary and Marcia!

Albert Carson's parents were Albert S. Felty and Sarah Jane HOSICK. Albert C. married Louella LEWIS. THEY had a son, Claud, born 1890, in Carmi. Claud was the fifth of their seven children. My grandfather, Harry E., was the sixth.

When Albert Carson died in 1947, Claud was one of his surviving children. Claud's residence at that time was Baltimore, MD.

About 10 years ago (or less), I looked for Feltys in Maryland and began calling. There was the widow of Richard Felty (son of Claud) in Glen Burnie (Spelling?), MD and George, also son of Claud; a Claud Cecil Felty and a Cecil Felty Hopkins; a Nancy Hamer, Tawney (?) MD and Mary Orem, Oakton, MD. (I'll be glad to give you these telephone numbers in a private email.)

If your Claud is my Harry E. Felty's brother, he was one of the few family that my Harry's family (in Texas) ever met. Harry (my grandfather) was ill with leukemia many years before his death in 1935. Claud and another brother.

I've gotten over the years from the White County Historical Society PO Box 121, Carmi, Illinois 62821. This group of volunteers is most helpful.

Nice to "meet" you!
