I am also a descendant of Christian Boston through his son, James M. Boston, then Gideon Clayborn Boston, then James Robert Boston, then James Colman Boston, then James Adler Boston. I am so happy to have finally found my family. My dad died in Feb. of 2000 and he had no idea of who was beyond Gideon Clayborn. I'm glad that I can let the rest of the family know that we have family all over the place!

Do you have any dates on your Jacob, George, & Matilda? My George Boston named his first daughter Matilda. I'm wondering if there is a connection. Email me at bluej@train.missouri.org

I find that you list (2) Surnames that are of particular interest. My Great Grandmother was born Harriet Rebecca Chaffin in Smith Co. TN. She had a sister named Mary that Was the wife of Thomas Douglas Gregory. Until this past Sunday the Boston Surname meant zilch to me. A cousin who was going through some old papers of a recently deceased Uncle found a transcription of an interview that mu Uncle had with our Grand Parents in 1959. Grandpa stated that Harriet's mother was a Boston. In the 1850 Smith Co. TN. Census Harriet is living with Ruthy or Ruthe age 50. Can you shed any light on this finding??

After my first post today, I remembered that a George Chaffin and wife Lydia and family were listed on the same patch of ground as was Tom Compton and Harriet R. Chaffin in the 1870 Pope Co. IL. Census. It appears that George and family moved to Macon Co. TN. by the taking of the 1880 Census. It has always been my assumption that George was Harriet's brother.

My husbands grandma is also named Lora Dell Boston Bonner. She died in Lebanon, Tennessee. He thinks she died in the late 1960s or early 1970s. He has no information on his ancestors and would love to learn more. Do you have any information you could share with him?

My husband's Boston line goes back to a Major John Boston from the Revolutionary War. We know he lived in Onslow County, NC at that time and may have been from Accomack County or Northampton County, VA (pennisula area). What I found interesting is that his son James married an Elozabeth Dell Briggs and other descendants later on married sons of Col. Phillip Dell. Wondering if you have ever come across relatives in NC or GA?
