HI! I have no info on a Matilda Fry Evans. Sorry! But, then I have no info yet on my Matilda's gr mother's, Mary, maiden name either. Or, Mary's husband's name. I may go to the Baltimore/D.C. area this fall to do more research. If I find anything of interest, I'll post it to the Evans query board.
Good hunting to us all.
Thanx for your inquiry/response.
I have a Lucy Owings, born 1790 in Maryland, her father Basil Owings from Baltimore. Could Lucy be Miranda's sister, dates about right. Lucy owings married Zadock Jarvis in 1812 in N. Carolina, his father Zadock Jarvis, Maryland. Any info. would be greatly appreciated.
I do not find a Lucy (or derivative) in my excerpt from the "Owings & Allied Families 1685 - 1985" by Addison D and Elizabeth S. Owings; Gateway Press, Inc.; Baltimore; 1985. However, I would highly recommend you try to locate this volume @ a historical library near you. It may just prove very fruitful for you, too.
