Dear Hub,

I haven't heard from you in a while. I hope that you are back in the Netherlands, and done with Afghanistan! I also hope that you are preparing for your trip to Poland.

I have a little bit of news for you. Furmany is very close to Tarnobrzeg, which was a "wojewodstwo" at the time our ancestors were there. A "wojewodstwo" or "woj." is a secton of Poland, similar to the states we have in the US. It seems that most of the Rutynas in the world came from this area.

I have been working on my Rutyna line almost exclusively for the past month or more, and I have made contact with several other Rutyna researchers.

Here is the Rutyna information that I have so far.

My grandfather was Walenty Rudolf, son of Wojciech Rudolf and Franciszka RUTYNA. She was born 10 April, 1863 in Jeziorko, Tarnobrzeg, Poland. (Jeziorko was a small village, a mining area, now it is just a mine.)

Franciszka RUTYNA was the daughter of Wojciech RUTYNA and Tekla Matyka. Woijciech was born about 1837 in Jeziorko. He died 5 Feb,1861 in Jeziorko.

Wojciech's father's name was Wojciech also. His mother was Mariana Kopala. Wojciech the elder was born about 1802 in Jeziorko, anddied 30 Jan, 1825.

The elder Wojciech was the sone of Jacek (Hyacinthe) RUTYNA, b. 1772, anddied 1837, and Malgorzata BUREK, b. about 1780, d. 1850.

Jacek had several children, but I get confused trying to figure out who is who! Since Wojciech also had several children. There are several RUTYNAs who married into the GALEK family as well, and I am working on finding who is who there. As soon as I can get back into the program, I will contact you again!

Hope you are well, safe, and at home! And I hope to hear from you very soon! I believe that our connection is a real one, and that we truly are cousins!

I am praying that you are ok, and home, as I have not heard from you since December!

Your "cousin"

Hi there: My late father-in-law had distant cousins "Rutyna" and he is a Janeczko - from the Tarnobzeg area in Poland. He also had a brother who emigrated to France, married there, and is buried in France.
PS - you may contact me for further information if you wish.

From the info I found; Peter RUTYNA married a Janeczko; they lived in Lowell, MA and belonged to Holy Trinity Church located on High Street. They had a duaghter Mary/Maryanna Rutyna who in turn married my gr-uncle Tomasz/Thomas GALEK; they alos lived in Lowell, MA and had a daughter named Helen. this was in the ealry 1900's, around 1910.
